I think we could see the first couple weeks of March be above normal temp wise, but as we progress out of winter the ability for patterns to “set in” becomes harder. I think the back half of March could be colder than normal.

Next weekend is looking warm. Warmer then this weekend perhaps. Let’s keep the trend of nice weekends going. Hopefully the rivers cooperate. I have nothing planned for next weekend except maybe take the new boat out.

Filled the bird feeders up yesterday and they are all empty today. The amount of cardinal birds we get down here is insane.

For those on Twitter, this sounds interesting to follow from Josh Morgerman:
6 months ago this morning, Category-5 #Hurricane #DORIAN, with winds of 160 knots (185 mph), made perfect, direct hit on Marsh Harbour in #Bahamas. I was there. This morning I’ll tweet like I would’ve in real time, if I’d still had connection to outside world. Check back here.

...but did you drink a particular Mexican beer? I drank enough harder stuff in college that I won’t allow myself to be taken out by a Mexican light beer.

Here’s the CPC revised March outlook. I think Dave’s wintry March is going to crash and burn

I agree it is apples and oranges. Daves forecast is the first order of magnitude on what a time period is going to look like. We know some of the parameters supporting a cold march were once there but are no longer in play, in the big picture. Until the higher sun stirs the ams, he can only rely on analogs, but nothing is 100%. Things are looking more spring like with the models overall but theres still some chance of backside snsh and even secondary development as long as the southern stream stays active. But those events just arent that predictable beyond a couple days in advance. I foresee no sustained extremes and at this time juncture, im normally more concerned abt premature heatwave than cold waves. Id say we will probably see an 80* day with compressional heating ahead of a cold front but nothing sustained. Humidity will be in play. And man, it is nice outside but im stuck inside due to work. Sucks to be salary on days like this but so thankful that i have a good career.

Beautiful warmth and this week looks drier than it was forecast last week Ya i follow Beau Dodsons wx page on fb. He covers western ky, nw tenn, ne ar, and parts of semo. He says "models do not predict weather, meteorologists do"...but he is relieved to see the models backing off some of the insane qpfs. His going forecast as of yesterday is for 1 to 3 inches of rain down there. Of course that shld mean we are probably at the lower end or less across our area.

No complaints about today. Amazing weather outside. As far as I’m concerned, I’m done with little Wednesday non-events. Bring on spring!!!
Does this get me banned? 😜😜
