Models don't exactly look promising for March. Euro ensembles looks very warm for much of the US starting March 6th with no cold in sight

Overall, the cold air looks to retreat back up north. Winter hangs tough northern great plains to upper midwest. Still some chance that individual systems can gain some magnitude, and pull in cold air for snow, but thats not predictable more than abt 3 days. We cld get a late march snow, but while it could add to snow totals, the overall pattern says spring. No sustainable cold in sight. Severe may also be limited, but rainfall shld be above average in march. Pattern is likely setting up for a summer that is similar to last summer.

posting for the first time in awhile to say, congrats STG!!! You'll be tired and exhausted and full of coffee for awhile, but nothing will ever feel better Agreed with prior comments, this thing hits 14 years running next fall (on 3 different formats) and it has to be one of the longest running internet groups ever.

oh, and I had to update my personal info. After 13 years of Hazelwood totals updates, no more. Moved to the Mid Rivers & 94 area in August.

Here's a couple radar frames and mesoanalysis charts from the Perryville EF-4 tornado 3 years ago: Thermodynamic environment: imgur.com/jWxlDvwKinematic environment: imgur.com/a4m3I5BKPAH radar: imgur.com/RYgczJrKLSX radar: imgur.com/m7kXJBEOne other interesting item of note is that the parent supercell traveled about 400nm as a discrete mostly isolated cell from northeast Oklahoma to south-central Indiana.

Hard to believe that tornado was three years ago. That was the scariest night of my career. As for today, getting reports of grauple with the activity racing out of central Missouri. That should sweep into STL metro by around 915am. Showers...mostly rain...but mixed with some variety of snow/grauple/etc. will dot the skies for much of the rest of today. I remember your coverage on my basement TV like it was yesterday. As a teacher, there was no doubt in my mind that we would have students that were killed, especially when footage of the destroyed houses came out later that evening. There is zero doubt that weathermen (Chris, Grant Dade on KFVSweather and others) saved lives that evening. The one person who did get killed was in a vehicle, just north of Chris on the interstate. What is also a relatively unknown fact, every house that had people in it that got hit, had a storm shelter or basement.

CPC has us above average the next month. Never say never but winter may be just about done I just saw that they had us at well below normal temps for March. It was on TWC website but I thought it was the CPC prediction. Ideas?

It was on TWC website but I thought it was the CPC prediction. Ideas? Not sure. Here's the latest CPC products. The latest March outlook still has us at a slight chance of below normal temps but the 6-10 and 8-14 day outlooks are toasty

Anyone get the license plate number of the bug that just ran me over? My entire body feels like I have sandbags tied to them. I am very happy for a few quiet days of weather so I can kick whatever it is that just took me down.

[br Fyi, cpc publishes month and 3 month outlooks third thursday each month and then update monthlyon last calendar date of the month. Yes prior outlook was below normal march but that shld be updated today. I havent seen it today but above normal makes sense.

Thanks! I posted the link to that article about a week ago. Since my phone spies on me, I had a link this morning again from TWC that now shows that CPC prediction for much above normal temps for this Spring (March-May). I'm not sure what that March prediction I saw was generated from but it was from TWC.

That will be one heck of a 180 prediction for March from well below to well above normal temps within one weeks time. How can they have any credibility with such wildly varying predictions so close together?
