I think it would only remain Amanda if the low remain closed as it crossed over right? That was going to be my second question.

What this country really needs right now is ANOTHER disaster in the form of a hurricane hitting Galveston or something. How much longer before we scream "uncle"? Bob and Doug the astronauts had the right idea.

How were the crowds?

We have the potential to get into a very wet pattern starting mid to late week, depending on what happens in the Gulf. I will take that over 92 and dry.

Reviewing 93L's satellite imagery and model analysis...it appears that the circulation is close to being off-shore now. Odds look good that it will organize into a depression by this time tomorrow or at least by Wednesday.

Hmm...Euro shows it deepening after landfall in TX as it moves into AR. I wonder if there is a bit of the "brown ocean effect" going on there?

Just left Yellowstone. Awesome trip but on our way there my exact quote was “The way this year has gone, it will probably erupt while we are there” I've never been and it's on our short list of places to go. How were the crowds? Besides Old Faithful and Grand Prismatic Spring, there were no crowds and no traffic. We stayed in Cody since there is no lodging in the park right now. Really cool drive in on the east entrance. We got lucky and saw a grizzly, black bear and even a wolf chasing an elk. Bison are every where.

Did you make it Lamar or Hayden Valley ? Usually lots of wildlfe there The upper grand loop was closed so we couldn’t access Lamar. Montana gates were not open yet. We saw the wolf in Hayden valley across the river.

The convective trends for tomorrow through Friday are murky at best. There is little doubt that we get some storms... the question is timing. My original thoughts were to keep the storms limited to tomorrow evening into tomorrow night. But some of the latest short range trends are driving an outflow generated by this aftenroon/evening's storms into Missouri tomorrow morning... with new storms along the outflow by midday along I-70. That seems fast...BUT...we have seen similar early arrivals in the past so the idea cannot be ruled out. Definitely something to watch!
Meanwhile, there is future Cristobal and next week...and how it may impact temperatures this weekend... etc.
