It's really starting to come down now. You are under some dark returns similar to what I had a bit ago. Nice big fluffy flakes! I'm on the fringe of the higher returns in Alton at 3/111 at the best western right now and it is straight up ripping small flakes right now. Lot is only clearish because of wind

Yeah it's ripping but this is really dry snow.
Probably 25-1 ratios. Maybe 30-1.
So overnight it looks like all of us will see snow on and off.
There are multiple vorticity lobes streaming up this way from the SW.
I think by the time we see the break in The morning we will have 2-3".
Some folks over the Southern metro might have 4"
Between 11AM until 6pm tomorrow we are looking at 4-8"
4" over the Western 1/3rd.
6" for St. Louis(including Jeff co, Madison county il, at Clair county IL and Randolph county IL, AND MONROE IL.
The SE 1/3rd will get 8"

A nice impulse developing now to our SW should be hitting the immediate metro and west by 10pm.

I wouldn't be surprised to see areas ese of the Mississippi River in IL be the jackpot snow winners w/ 12 in reports come time Tuesday. It will be hard to measure though. That's smart you have an enclosed flat area away from the wind where you can measure Snowstorm920. I have some spots that are more away from the wind.

I have very light snow now and the radar bears that out. That new development about to come through sure is screaming N-NE. It's like it is trying to catch up to the other batch so I don't get upset because the snow lightened up for a bit. How thoughtful. Just watching this system pull together out west is fun.

NAM looks solid with the mid-week stuff But its the NAM 48+ hours out so viewer discretion advised There is certainly a chance this could end up as one of the most memorable 2 week stretches of winter in St. Louis history.

Even the way it is shown verbatim would be historic for the metro area.
For the southerners...epic.
