It is absolutely ripping in Perryville. Flake size has increased dramatically in the last half hour. We’ve had at least 2 inches no doubt. I’d put us in the 2” category as well

Hell, with that late start time, Chris may not be on air come 4am haha I’ve been waiting for new set debut and Fox 2 weather tonight It’s going to be a late night at Ch2, they didn’t start the race until 8:30. Which is fine , for news/weather, I only watch Chris anymore, and others sources for news online.

Shortwave embedded in the trough in TX panhandle looks really good on WV.

Snow growth is just amazing. Every flake.
Large
Medium
Small
Tiny...
They are all perfect dendrite looking crystals.

Shortwave embedded in the trough in TX panhandle looks really good on WV. The models are getting a full sampling of the trough tonight and they are all coming in better looking for tomorrow.

I am yet to see anything more than a few minutes of moderate snow. Very light snow now. Reading all of these reports is torture.

midweek system is further SE on GFSv16. Not a complete miss but not a direct hit either. Would add maybe 5" here in Waterloo. I had hopes that the midweek system would be the "bigger" of the two and it still could be but looking less likely now.

The STL Weather Man FB page just said and I quote "Once again I got it right before NWS and others." It's arrogant posts like these that make want this storm to bust so hard. I mean some of us have yet to get the first inch and they're already calling it win. Come on.

I am estimating 1.25" 7 miles west of De Soto. I have no 'real clear' area around me. I set the snowboard 30' from the house and outbuilding but then trees are an issue. That measurement 'looks' realistic. Very light dust falling or blowing off roof. I have very light radar returns over me now.

I think it’s way too early to look at midweek. Let’s enjoy tonight and tomorrow and see what it does. midweek system is further SE on GFSv16. Not a complete miss but not a direct hit either. Just drove Chesterfield to Fenton via 141. Got not good quickly. The light fluffy snow is slick. Of course the pickup truck drivers and 18 wheeler think they are invincible and are still going full speed.

I'm sticking with my 3 to 5. I really think the models are underestimating the steep demarcation northwest of 44, and most of this evening's activity is 30 miles southeast of me. I hear you and I know I have a conservative slant as well, but I think 7" is just as likely as 3" personally. NBM says 6" for the airport FWIW.

Ch 2+2 did a couple of live shots from I-64 fifteen minutes apart. First was by Forest Park and highway was partially covered. Second was from Chesterfield Valley and the road was clear.

Incredible and it's probably a little too far East tomorrow. This band right now is winding down. Another powerful band will move in about 1AM.
