So do we. Kids were playing in the field out back about 2.5-3 hours ago. There foot prints are almost gone. Everyone is going to see at least 5". Yeah we are not reaching 8-12" with these baby flakes. We only need 2 more to verify the 8-12......... I think that’s doable It's definitely possible. I just meant all over the metro in mass it won't reach that level.

I think 4.5 in Arnold and 3.5 in cahokia are both conservative.
I can't see how those places are that low.

Some big fluffy flakes flying here all of a sudden
If we can get some fat dendrites for the latter half of this system we could really start piling up the totals

We have around 6 inches of new snow ..... still pouring snow Same here. It looks like a death band trying to get going directly to our S and heading straight N. You are correct... flakes are a little bigger in that band

I measured in multiple spots w/ an average coming out to 5.5” 5 miles SW of Desoto. Demerson or amstilost are about 15-20 miles away from me. Hopefully our numbers are close. Wind is really starting to pick up. Temp:4

There should be some banding potential on the tail end with the trof axis getting a bit squeezed as it moves into the lingering confluence. This looks to favor along/N of 70.

Sure looks like 5-6" so far here but that's just a guess. Getting some decent drifting as well. 8" seems very doable on top of the few inches we already had. If we can get a decent snow on Wed/Thurs then we could easily have a snowpack well over a foot.

NWS employee reports M3.9 in O'Fallon, MO little while ago. Around the same time I measured 3.1" in St. Peters.

A band of snow down by popular bluff is developing and will take the form of a tail end and love NE towards the immediate metro and SWIL/SWWIL.
This should end up being large flakes.

I'm going to estimate 3" in the St. Peters / Harvester area. I'll try to get a better measurement later.

I would think most locations should be able to add a couple more inches through this evening. HRRR is very slow to bring the back edge through here. It keeps snow going from the metro points north well into the evening which other meso models agree with

4.5” of new snow and a snow depth of 6” in Arnold It’s brutal out there. Just got done with round 2 of shoveling and when the wind picks up the blowing snow goes crazy I am almost exactly the same. Just got a solid measurement of 5.5-6” total. So hard to tell. Had 1.5” down this morning.

Beaker and I both eyeball about 4.5-5 in O’Fallon/Dardenne before heading out for an official measurement

I'm going to estimate 3" in the St. Peters / Harvester area. I'll try to get a better measurement later. So you estimate 3", another poster measured 3.1" and another relative measured 4.1" in the same city at the same time. Everyone ignore this post...I couldn't help myself. In the end your area should reach cost to 6". Edit: looks like you guys might be low based on measurements just to your West

That band to my S looks to be moving NNW and could impact you showtime. It looks a FGEN band.

NWS employee reports M3.9 in O'Fallon, MO little while ago. Around the same time I measured 3.1" in St. Peters. That first band last evening left this area really short. Quarter to half inch at most.

I’m only 29 but I’ll be shocked if we ever see anything like this again.
Snow on snow on snow. Temps barely breaking 10° for a week straight. Measurable snowfall falling with temps at or below 0°. 2-3 weeks straight with temps not breaking 32°
Unreal.
