Glenn did say this year's pattern was similar to last year's. It's really hard to know what average temps/precipitation is considering that average is summing 40 years of extremes to get pretty round numbers.

Remember when Fall used to start in September? I know it isn't uncommon to have these temps in Sept. and into very early Oct. but it sure seems like things have been pushed back 3-4 weeks nowadays in terms of true autumn onset. It may be me just paying more attention the older I get but everything is so drastic here lately compared to when I was younger. Like all or nothing with temps and precipitation. Idk probably just over thinking it. Just feels like it’s super dry or way to wet. Too warm or extreme cold. I feel the same way. It seems like we go straight from winter to summer and straight from summer to winter. Spring and fall seem to be getting shorter and shorter by the year

Well the EURO has backed way off with the strength of the backdoor next week and builds the ridge in by mid-week...those mid-80s are looking likely now, unfortunately. At least it’s not mid 90s.

I don’t see any chances for below normal temperatures on the CPC site for the next month for us. Gross

Just saw the forecast this week.
What a kick in the balls.
After what felt like the most humid summer of my life more intolerable heat.

I’ve reached the limit of ‘not complaining that summer isn’t over’. Time for early celebrations of Festivus.

Must be elevation changes around Anchorage or those snow totals are off. Talk about wild variation

The lack of snow from the TX/OK panhandles through the metro shows the missing wheelhouse Memphis lows of late.

Dews around 60 is making it feel more humid, along with the heat. Pretty disgusting for October starting in 3 days.

Here we go...
Typhoon is about to recruve off Japan in a couple days which along with several other factors should hasten the current warm/heat wave out. 768hr CFS been pretty consistent of showing colder air for the latter 2/3rds of October with a possible early Winter weather blitz around or just before Halloween. Look for the GFS, CFS, and Euro to start cooling down in their longer ranges in the next couple days. Low pressure system forming later this week will pretty much shut down the current heat wave. Doesn't mean that we're done with unusually 'hot' days but anything over low-mid 80s looks pretty remote after tomorrow for the next couple to few weeks barring any strong low pressure system pulling in from the southwest which could bring a fluke hot day here and there if the right conditions exist ahead of these systems (sunny skies, southwest winds, and warm temperatures aloft, etc). Going pattern looks pretty unsettled the next week or so after tomorrow. No all day rains, but showery and periodically thundery here and there through early to mid next week with largely 70s for highs and mid 50s to mid 60s for lows.
