Been coming down at a nice clip since about 7am. Accumulating quickly. I can see our 4” verifying if this keeps up.

LOL... sorry if I caused some hearts to stop saying the snow would continue into the weekend. I meant into the afternoon. My brain is cold.
Sorry if that cause some of you to start digging for why that would happen lol.

Getting some January 2014 vibes out there right now
Snow rate has picked up and that combined with blowing snow is really lower visibility

I am glad this is dry and powdery. If this was a heavy, wet plastering there would have been power failures all over this way. The powerlines would have not been able to support the additional weight with the ZR still caked to them.

Just cleaned off the boat....sure wish it would have fit in the outbuilding, faulty measuring before we bought the place. I did take a yardstick around the property some. I think I'm better at measuring snow than the height of a boat. 4.5-5" average. When I would push through 'the crust' from yesterday it would bottom out at 6.25". I know not very scientific. If we can get some numbers from around the area we could average them to get close. Have to put this into the yearly snow count for sure.
Edit: Flat out rippin' out there with much bigger flakes. Not huge but bigger than we've had. A few great northern bean size flakes mixed in.

Amazing, just when you think on radar the back edge is eroding, you get another big push south to north out of AR. Fantastic!

My wife visually estimated at least 5.5 two hours ago... and the webcam I set up to look at my snow board is covered in snow so I cant see it lol.

1/4 mile vis, and pouring snow. Must be that darker green blob. Sure wish it would continue for, I don't know, 6-8 more hours. 16* 7 miles west of De Soto.

Heard the storm warning got extended to 6p tonight. Is that for all of St Louis metro or because it’ll still be snowing in Illinois? Or SE MO?

3.5" of new snow since midnight putting us on the brink of 9" storm total here in Brighton. 14* Starting to get that 2014 look with the drifts. Friggin' winter wonderland unless you're out in it. Hearing reports of roads blown shut locally. I think that may be the case just south of here, snowplow went that way and 10 minutes later he was back. Not normal routine.

You can really see the backbuilding taking place! Heavy snow starting to make its way into the metro.

Makes me wonder if the totals need to be upped. The placement of this 2nd wave has come together beautifully and looks to park it perfectly over almost entire metro for another 7-8 hours.
