The most recent model runs do show a decent deformation zone running up 44/64 this morning.
But again it's mostly SE of 44.

3am, Still 37 and mostly rain with some wet flakes mixed in around Riverport and Maryland Heights, not looking like a plowing event…this will go down as one of the bigger model disasters of all times for the metro. You can’t fault the forecasts, the majority had the snow amounts, I guess the RGEM and GEM will win with Ukmet in third place. US models and Euro were terrible this storm. Wow

Maybe a 1/2 inch in Kirkwood at 3am. Can't wait to listen to the slack from today. At least I got my office to WFH.

Snowing has picked up much heavier again just South of Farmington. Will definitely end up in that 5-8 range when this is said and done

Wow Those models blew chunks as well in many ways. It's snowing pretty hard again. Hard enough the side walk is slushy whitish. Temp is 34.7F. I'm going to bed. Good luck everyone

Didn’t think I would be able to get a normal night of sleep in. Usually get up at 3 everyday. Switched to snow here about 2:30 and nothing has stuck yet. Sitting at 33.8° currently at 3:40. Gonna be hard to need a snowplow on this one but maybe some salt later today if the pavement surfaces don’t dry off with the wind this afternoon. (Marthasville)

Heavy snow falling now. Temp still at 35.8.
Measured 4 different spots. The snow is in globs, so the accumulation varies. Saw a low of 2.5 inches and a high of 3.5 inches, with a 2.75 and a 3.25 in the middle, so I'll call it 3 inches for now. Accumulating fairly quickly now.
3 miles north of Bonne Terre.

Pouring snow now in Maryland Heights. Ground is turning white quickly and accumulations piling up quickly on car tops.
Page Ave is also getting slushy.

Was just about ready to give up & go to bed but took one last 👀 &, lo & behold, it was snowing! I hurried up & went down to street level to take it all in. Definitely very slushy. Traffic seems to be ok on it. I felt like a kid!

Man this system is moving quick.
We will be lucky if we see accumulating snow after 6-7am.
Crazy...just straight crazy

I don't recall such a heavy wet snow in such a large quantity. We have numerous power outages in Fredericktown and Madison County. Trees are a saggin'.

Might touch 2 inches in st.peters there was an inch when I left, it snowed very heavily on way to work, 364 was snow packed up to about Highway k then it was patchy which makes sense as it is less out west.

Boy if we get 1 more hour we may get 2 to 4 across the metro along and east of that union to st.peters, to carlinville line.
Roads will definately be fine though by mid morning.
And lots if not most will melt away today. It was a very heavy snow this morning and its very pretty. Just could not get it to change over quick enough, but thank goodness it was a night snow otherwise we would of had nothing.
Take it slow and everyone will be fine.

It better hurry if it's going to get to 4" here in Mascoutah. The grass isn't even covered.

Just lost power here in Northern SG County. I let the dogs out before we lost it and you could hear limbs breaking every so often. Around 1 I went out to get firewood and the battle was being fought between ground temps and snow. So far I would say we have 4-5” on elevated surfaces.

Not saying 4 is common closer to 2 but just covering all the bases.
Also modot cams look impressive in st.peters points east along 364 looks snowpacked.

So, looking ahead, im becoming increasingly concerned about "icing season", so to speak. Multiple chances of icing if surface temps are cold enough with a persistent mid and upper level sw flow, models tracking multiple little disturbances in that flow. No big storms are being picked up by any of the models attm.
