Which was a bigger disappointment lastnight.....The Blues or the storm? Too soon? The blues might be rebuilding for a while so definitely the blues.

Rocking a solid half inch here. Not bad, matches the season total to date! I'm done with winter! I'm sure the schools that cancelled up here feel like fools.

The biggest warning sign to me was a few days ago the precipitation type charts started showing rain at the onset.
I think going back like 4-5 days ago and before that wasnt nearly as abundant.
Some of the GFS runs had rain for the first 4-6 hours the past couple of days. Should have been a huge warning sign.

Hearing that roads are pretty dicey...I'd say the cancellations were warranted. This slushy snow is slick as snot. It's just not the 4"+ that was forecast.

I started to read from page 45 on to catch up but after the last half of that page I figured I woild jump ahead and post my totals. 5.5 to 6" in lots of locations. I had to 'bulldoze' the snow off of the boat. Heavy, heavy, heavy stuff. Be careful shoveling out there. 7 miles west of De Soto. Now I will go back and see who the winners were. Couldn't possibly be west central JeffCo.

Either I’m starting to turn into my father or I don’t have permission, but I can’t figure out how to attach photos.
Anyway, something I’ve never seen before, snow formed a roof over our chicken coop, on the woven wire.
A lot of limbs/trees down.

Ours collapsed though under the weight.

Just tell everyone most of it melted overnight. They'll never know the difference.

When I went out to brush the dish and boat off at 6am I seen a green flash so something blew out toward Breckenridge and Russel Rd's. Our power went out/surged sometime last night. My alarm clock was flashing but nothing else.

4.75-5 inches here in my part of Ste. Gen. It’s been a fairly efficient last hour to 90 minutes. Winding down now.

I haven't been out to check the road, but watching out towards the road and cars are traveling at normal speed here. Ponding water looks to be the biggest road hazard. ( Typical Macoupin county road condition!)

I think lack of dry air near the surface did in parts of the metro where precep rates struggled. Trying to cool down air by melting alone is very inefficient. We could have used a stiff NE wind feeding some drier air into the system at the surface.
