Models look modestly interesting around the 10th with that second wave digging in...there looks to be enough cold air to work with IF something can develop. Models are all over the place with the speed of ejection with the first storm though. Havent looked today, but in the past, the models depicted the cold air arriving about 12 hours after the secondary scooted through our wheelhouse. Incidentally that is the same energy i had eyeballed days ago as something to monitor. Models either suppressed it too much and blew it up to our east, or moved it through too quickly for any interaction with the cold. I would not be surprised if the cold air filtered into the region quicker than previously modeled. Keep us posted on your thoughts.

I’m pretty sure the models have come up with just about every plausible solution regarding that energy including moving it around by like 48 hours.

As expected, the models are flailing about trying to forecast that potential cutoff low. Absurdly different solutions run-to-run and across model suites.

Balloon should be visible over St. Louis in a few hours? My friend just sent me video of it over Ashland Missouri which is just south of Columbia

At 60,000 feet you might be able to see it soon on the northern horizon. What the hell.

GFS weakens the strat vortex significantly towards mid-month with another big burst of warming/westerlies over the pole. That supports the idea of a more wintry pattern later in the month into March.

Still west but slightly harder to see as it is bright with the sun, I would say it is running approximately 5 miles south of 70 moving basically due east, I keep watching, should be almost directly over head soon

jet planes seem to be making small brief contrails, so if you see a white dot up in the sky with no contrail, you've probably spotted the balloon. I went out in the yard to clean up pet waste and couldn't see it. A couple jets way up high making small brief contrails but nothing else. Sun is way to bright as it's already getting low in the sky.

Its way up there but if someone had a good telescope with out looking at the sun though it would be neat to see if we could see the details, 66000 feet is way up there

I would say it is paralleling between 364 and 70, it should be right over south st.peters, harvester, soon, then off to the east. I would say at the moment with that height its on top of ofallon Missouri right now

Well we cant get snow but we seem to get questionable balloons. All fairness its concerning and hope nothing comes of it, as well as cant get a better day to view it with some of the clearest skies you can get in this area
