I am so sad to share that MoSue passed away on April 19. Rest in peace Sue. Oh no! I'm just seeing this! I am so sorry Reb and thank you for sharing the news. It is hard to keep up with everybody on here. So many have been around for so long, but post infrequently. Others more often. But news like this reminds me how Morethanweatherstl is about more than weather. It's about all of you. I may have started this thing, but it's all of you who breath the life into it. You keep it going, you bring the passion. I may be mistaken, but this may be the first member of the group we've lost. That is for sure a sobering thought. But to MoSue's family and all of her friends... here and elsewhere... a heartfelt prayer of peace and comfort!

I have been on here a long time and I truly have become a weather lover no matter the season and learned a lot! I’ll try and keep you informed as long as I can! Love you! We love you too Sue! RIP!

I plan on making a donation to ponybird in her honor. IF anyone wants to venmo/paypal me, i will make a single donation in the name of MTWSTL. Venmo is @johnpaulg. I meant to do this earlier to send flowers, but life got in the way. I will make the donation on Friday evening. PM if you have any questions, and if this isnt allowed, delete it.

I hate to say it, but venmo won't let me send you money unless I know the last four digits of your phone number. I guess that's good, but I will donate directly

Friday's severe threat is looking pretty conditional around here, with the warm front being stubborn to lift through probably favoring overcast and lack of strong destabilization. There could be some strong storms around during the morning hours with the lead wave and maybe another round during the evening but it doesn't look too impressive right now to me. Sunday looks like it has much better potential. Either way, several rounds of beneficial rainfall look likely. Hopefully we can keep chipping away at the drought into early summer and avoid a repeat of last year!

I would really enjoy a soaking rain. Even though muddy paws will be a result.

Bath-heck no. Shower-dog won't stay in the bathroom. Outside pouring rain-greatest thing ever to my dog and we have to physically block the dog door so she doesn't keep going out.

The incredibleness that it just does not want to rain 7 miles west of DeSoto is, well, incredible.🤪🤪🤪 Just a nice soaking rain, no flooding, with some runoff to fill up the pond, Maybe some medium sustained winds, say in the 15 to 20 mph range to blow all the filamentous algae to one side so I can pull it out. Not asking for much.🤔😊

My pond still needs a drink!

how's the severe set-up looking in the metro going into tonight? I have a Scout camping at Warren Levis in Godfrey tonight, a little nervous for the severe stuff.

Yeah.. not too jazzed about severe potential in this part of the state. However, it is worth remembering the threat posed by lightning. We tend to poo poo it because every storm produces lightning. But it becomes a particular concern this time of year when the nu.ber of outdoor events increases. So for while tornadoes and high winds may not be a big threat in this area today and tonight, folks should consider lightning.

Ya not too concerned about severe weather here either. Looks like the setup for severe storms is over the same areas the next 2 days.
When finally pushing east by Sunday. Meh...

I think it wasn't an hour after posting that that we got a pretty good quick shower getting everything nice and wet. A good shower going on right now 7 miles west of De Soto. 👍👍

We finally are getting SOME rain here, but the juicy looking radar is still drying up when it gets to my house. 😕
Baby steps I guess.
