Spc backed off significantly on severe weather for today which makes sense in our area. Looks like it will be more of a soaking rain then storms for our area.
Which is good we don't need severe weather.
Im more interested in Thursday for our area.

Yeah, not gonna be much destabilization with the widespread clouds and precip in the warm sector today. Might be a strong wind gust or two with the line that develops later this evening but it's not looking too impressive. Just more beneficial rain...I got 90% of the garden planted as of yesterday so this is very welcome.

Yes, the overall threat today has diminished... especially relative to what happened the past two days. But it hasn't reduced completely to zero. We may get just enough instabilty for near severe winds and even a QLCS quick spinner with the line this evening...but it's not the slam dunk nor extreme of the past two days... more of a baseline risk here. I just want to be careful not to pull back too far and have folks think the "coast is clear"

Even with the sun out now the atmosphere won't destabilize much?

Even with the sun out now the atmosphere won't destabilize much? That outflow boundary from last night is starting to come through Northern Jefferson County. Dark clouds and really windy. Haven't seen much sun here.

Ya, the severe threat is low but certainly not zero later today. The 3km NAM is showing an environment ahead of a line of storms capable of some spin ups.

It sure feels stormy, it's hotter and muggier after the outflow went through and sun coming out again. Currently 75

Excellent outlook by the SPC yesterday. Took longer than expected, but no question they did well! Much better than it looked up until late in the event.

I happened to check the SOI index today on a whim because of how active the S stream has been lately and it has taken a pretty good downturn over the past couple months. That led me to the CPC ENSO page and it looks to me like the La Nina that was expected to develop this spring is struggling to do so. There's only a small area of cool anomalies off the S America coast so far. Has the forecast changed?

The local Mets there have given Springfield metro the all clear now he says. We exchanged a few tense texts for the last 1/2 hour. Hopefully the touchdown wasn't too bad or long lasting. I guess some of that action moves our way later. Not great timing unfortunately.

It was great to see the ditches flowing this morning and the creek up a little and muddy on my way to work. Haven't looked at the pond yet, I'll check it this evening, but I know it's gotta be better! I have a little driveway work to do as well, but it's a welcome trade off. Wonderful rain last night!

1.48” in my backyard. How are all of your ponds doing? I didn't put the rain gauge out the last couple days but the pond has definitely come up as of yesterday afternoon. Looking at National Weather Service site the whole area around me looks like we received two and a half to three inches of rain and I'm going to say a lot of that came last night with those storms so I'm sure the pond has topped the spillway with those last night cuz it would have just been all run off.
