Already a tornado warning in far west OK. Gonna be a brutal day I’m afraid out in the plains.

100 preliminary tornado reports yesterday and not a single fatality is remarkable. A testament to the advanced warning the SPC gave and great job by the individual NWS offices.

Gotta give some credit to the chasers and even the social mediarologists (I know…). There were hundreds of thousands of people streaming those feeds yesterday.

Can really see the individual cells on that map. I think the ability to stream is saving lives, but I'm sure there are chaser convergence issues this weekend

CAMs are pretty insistent with developing scattered showers and storms across the region this afternoon. I'm struggling to find a forcing mechanism with mid-level height rises occurring but it seems like a secondary warm front is developing just to our S/SW ahead of the ejecting upper low so that may be what models are picking up on. I'd be surprised if these pose a severe threat with a lack of deep lift but a pulse strong storm or two is possible.
Tomorrow is looking somewhat messy with models showing widespread cloudiness and precip across the region. We'll have to see how that trends, as the kinematics and dynamics are definitely supportive for severe storms.

Herb garden is planted and grass is mowed so a nice rain would be appreciated.

I probably 'should' know this answer, looking at the SPC map just posted here, were there 100 'separate' tornadoes or was multiple sightings of the same tornado counted? I am in 100% agreement with the above posts of no fatalities occurring and advanced warnings along with the multitude of chasers/public streaming of it surely helped with that.

Based on clustering & general consensus - multiple sightings of the same tornados.

Tomorrow storm threat has a lot of potential mitigating factors with many possible outcomes possible following today's storms. In my experience, day 3s of a multiday event are often washed out some by worked-over atmosphere. But, not always. So until the details of today flush out, we need to stay weather aware for tomorrow.

I've been so busy at work I can't keep up. I'm just now hearing about Nebraska from yesterday. Is the PDS watch today the first of the year?

Looking like an underperformer in the southern plains so far. Capping + messy storm mode + some dry air issues seem to be keeping things in check so far

It could be argued that today should have been an enhanced with the weakness in the hodographs. It has resulted in multicell and QLCS structures galore.

It's simple with the severe weather yesterday and today/this evening. It's not a bad idea to issue a Tornado Watch to get the word goes out, to have a way to get your alerts while people are sleeping.

Surprised they issued a tornado watch into the metro Storms will likely struggle to get this far east Completely agree! They are already starting to becom outflow dominant southwest of Jefferson City and the outflow is starting to surge ahead of the main line further north. The stronger 500mb flow never gets much further to the east than where it is now and there continues to be a cap in place further east over eastern MO. There is a narrow zone from near the current tornado warning (which is a legit QLCS signature) south of Sedalia...northeast to about Mexico...maybe as far east as Bowling Green where I could see a continued QLCS tornado threat... but I have my doubts further east.

As soon as the sun went down all hell broke loose in Oklahoma
Sometimes all it takes is a ramp up in the LLJ to kick things off

As soon as the sun went down all hell broke loose in Oklahoma Sometimes all it takes is a ramp up in the LLJ to kick things off LLJ can be the game changer. It certainly lit a charge into things in south central OK. Lots of messy storm modes out there tonight... even in OK.
