Looks like National Weather service radars have a huge power failure??
Anybody able to confirm that??

My last radar update was 12/17 but it looks like it is updating again and substantially weaker according to the radar.

The tornado warning Chris highlighted would have passed right over my head about 10-15 minutes ago. The sound of hail on my tin roof woke me, before the alert tone. I'm fine.

After unplugging the weather radio from the basement and moving it back upstairs I guess it reset itself but it's it's working fine now or it was just the heavy clouds and Rain went through that I don't know I don't know what it was but it was getting nothing down in the basement until I took it back upstairs and unplugged it and plugged it back in. Yeah that cell substantially weakened, thankfully, before it went through here. I mean I we hardly got any rain or wind. Maybe because of the computer issues they were being overly cautious which I understand that. GQ public probably won't.

Sirens went off again and just received my emergency alert via my phone. Looks like some storms west of Farmington look nasty.

Trying to look at radar and looks like cell I’m most worried about is north of Farmington but south of Bloomsdale by just a little. Very quiet /silent outside. It has not arrived here yet.

That was one crazy night. Not because of how bad the storms were... but because I was parked in front of the QLCS with no idea what was coming at me because of the radar/data outage. That was not a feeling I care to repeat anytime soon.

I told my wife that took some guts to do what you did…….I was sitting in an house and was freaking out because I couldn’t update the radar, I can only imagine what it felt like for you …..thanks again for what you do!!!

The radar outage was an absolute disaster. I can't stand being blind like that when I'm trying to gauge risk. Couldn't imagine being mobile and chasing and losing radar data in anything HP or QLCS related.
Wonder what caused so many sites to go offline at once?

I think the front is coming through. Things had been calm. Suddenly I got a 40-50 mph wind gust. Now the wind has settled down to a 10-20 mph speed.
