I have a feeling we are not going to get much of anything late tonight and tomorrow.
Which is unfortunate because only had 10 drops in st.peters
And the outflow pushed the instability away from us

Well this has been a messy, messy evening for storm motions, mergers and morphology and I'm not sure it's going to get much better the rest of this evening into tonight. Although, I really don't care since the temperature briefly dipped to 68 in Warren County in the heavy rain. It was wonderful!
Now, for the rest of tonight...the severe storms between Peoria and Davenport are going to try and build south...and may weaken quite a bit on the eastern flank once they get into central Illinois where the air has been turned over more. But the western flank will not too far from the less contaminated air over parts of central Missouri. It's possible we end up with a couple of clusters of strong to severe storms dropping south overnight... with a general trend in development favoring a more southwest motion over time...towards the higher instability air. I still have concerns about repeatting storms in a few spots and resulting flash flood threat... but that will be isolated... similar to what happened up in Pike County earlier.
It's just going to be occassionally stormy... and less and less severe over time I would think as more of the atmosphere gets worked over.

Pretty decent stratoform development N/NW of the MCV that developed west of the Metro earlier...I'll take the slow soaker but hoping for a heavy storm or two overnight to fill the rain barrel and pond up.

Those storms south of DSM should build and slide S/SE towards the region overnight being fed by the veering LLJ atop the remnant outflow boundary/rain cooled airmass

Been nonstop lightning and thunder for the better part of an hour or more. We’ve had about a half inch at our house, but another WeatherLink station a couple miles from me has recorded 1.38”.

3rd bout of heavy rain and close lightning. It's nice to get the breaks so the ground can soak up what it can. I put off mowing the past week because I wasn't sure it would rain. Probably won't get mowing in tomorrow but Thursday should be good.

Not sure how much I had tonight. Someone in the house jostled the gateway for my weather station so recording started at 8:25pm. 0.19" since then, but I might have missed the heaviest here.

We're the winners down here for sure. No official measurement but lots of rain. Looks like a good round of soaking rain still to come this morning as well. A wonderful thing for this time of year!
Also, did anyone else get to catch that rainbow this morning? Obviously not everyone would have been able to see it but it was phenomenal down here. If I can figure out how to post pics I will do so.

We saw one to the south that wasn't too impressive when we were pulling out of the driveway this morning, but ended up a double by the time we drove a few miles.
