When the original Twister came out, social media and youtube was a dream. In this day with live streaming of real weather, this movie is going to fail miserably. Maybe one day a documentary will be released on the big screen about real storm chasers, that I would see

I guess now that things have calmed down I think it might be ok to post this movie trailer that was released today of all days. The first one...ok imo. Bill and philip did a great job. They are gone now. The next one coming out in july...not something that looks good. Just like the first one, ill pass on seeing it on big screen. The first one was one of my favorite movies as a kid. I remember my mom took myself and some friends up to the Festus theater to watch it after the last day of school(1996ish???). Will never forget the big tornado display they had. I was obsessed with tornados as a kid. I always wanted to know what belt Bill Paxton had on at the end that could sustain an F5 lol. This one looks really really bad, and it's a shame(maybe I am wrong?). They have all of the potential in the world to make a great sequel, and it looks like they just washed over the old movie and made an updated version.

Ok, I think I'm going to beat 920 to the punch on this one. The Miller International Airport in McAllen, TX hit 111 F yesterday. That is their all time record high.
There in unofficial report that La Puerta, TX hit 116 F. I believe the NWS is trying to verify that.
Brownsville, TX recorded an official heat index of 124 F.
For those that may have forgotten or not realized it...we're still in the first half of May.

Shelf cloud in a sharply bowing line segment. I saw same feature in Bloomsdale. The fact that it had strong horizonal motions from south to north along the boundary helped cue up the tornado warning for the QLCS type tornado.

As luck would have it, I caught a nasty cold bug while out chasing this week and I have been glued to my bed since Wednesday night. Glad we have some quiet weather coming up.
It sounds cliche, but Wednesday could have been so much worse. As bad as it was, we were lucky!

I'm going to head east here in a little bit to see if I can spot them I'm going to drive up towards Kane...it gets very dark up that way. I saw the aurora quite a few years ago but it was only a faint red glow on the horizon.

I can confirm. It's visible even in the metro light pollution. It's fading in and out so if you don't see it wait a few minutes.

Yes. They should pulse between really vivid and not so much for the next 3-4 hours or more.

Has since faded and I have a big cloud to my north. Waiting for it to move. It should come back again right? Seems to be ebbing and flowing a bit. I can see them well at times then they fade. The night time mode on the iPhone captures a lot of what the naked eye is seeing very lightly.
