This is a short synopsis from last night's C2CAM radio show. I'm not familiar with the guest so I can't attest to his character or accuracy but from research I've done in the past this is not the first time I've heard of these kinds of allegations. I may comment further once I get a chance to listen to the show which I have recorded online with Dar.fm
Climate Fraud:
In the first half of Wednesday's show, space historian Robert Zimmerman contended that fraud and dishonesty have permeated the sciences of climate and environmental studies, including scientists at NASA and NOAA manipulating the temperature records. "Global warming scientists/activists within the climate science field too often are frauds," faking data, and working to destroy the careers of scientists who disagree with them," he remarked. For instance, both NASA and NOAA have claimed that 2013 was one of the hottest years on record, but they arrived at these conclusions by manipulating the temperatures from earlier in the 20th century, consistently estimating them at cooler numbers. While some of their temperature re-adjustments of the past may be accurate, the fact that they are always colder indicates they are manipulating the data to validate the global warming theory, he argued.
Some climate scientists have admitted that there's been a "pause" in global warming for the last 18 years, but they have no explanation for this as it goes against their models which predict warming based on increased CO2 in the atmosphere, he noted. When it comes to claims of extreme weather increasing, we're not actually seeing evidence for this-- for example, last year the US had its lowest recorded tornado count in 50 years, and a very weak hurricane season, Zimmerman detailed. He also talked about the lull in solar activity, as well as developments in space exploration.

Most people have heard of "Climategate", so this isn't surprising. Careful with taking just anyone's opinion on this subject and dig into some real scientific data, articles and information. Just keep in mind, allegations of scientific fraud would have to be backed up by some evidence, and thus far, there hasn't been any compelling evidence.... at all: A couple of more skeptical looks at accusations of fraud: CG1 CG2

Thanks CSNAVY! I'm not saying the guy is right. Just presenting the synopsis of the show. I still need to listen to the show but be mindful that that show used to be Art Bell's show and now it's really crappy since George Noory took it over. Noory used to be on KMOX before taking over the show. It has some neat guests from time to time but it also a "conspiracy" program at it's heart so you always have to be cautious with any info presented. I'll have to check out those Youtube links but I'm always super cautious of YouTube because any crackpot can put up videos on YouTube claiming to be an expert. A perfect example are the sudden viral "fake snow" videos that are cropping up after the recent snow in the deep south. People are burning snow with lighters claiming it doesn't melt but just burns. Of course it's just the lighter not fully burning the fuel and charring the snow. It's total bunk from people with no knowledge at all.
Also, when I said, "from my research I've done in the past" I was alluding to reading similar things/ideas in the past but I agree, there is little hard evidence to back up all the claims but I do suspect there is some truth to the allegations but that's just my opinion. We always have to be mindful of the money trail. When there's grants on the line, people's livelihoods at stake and carbon credits to sell then you have to be skeptical at times of some reports. Money, greed and even desperation can never be discounted.

exactly, ignorance is rampant in American anymore it seems. I just noticed that weather underground has an entire section on Climate Change, specifically man-made Climate change. I've just glanced at it but I'm weary of any website that "might" have an agenda. If I'm not mistaken, NBC bought the TWC and TWC bought weather underground. Hope I'm right about that If so that makes me a bit leary. One of the first videos that have is from Al Gore. hmmmm...... I'd rather hear from real scientists than a politician, especially one that is set to profit from carbon credits.

There's a lot of dense language in there, but it represents the most well studied aspects of climate and climate change. I'd be happy to break down or independently source whatever you'd like. Unfortunately, the very long development cycle of the reports (6 years) almost immediately makes them outdated when they come out. The bleeding edge science will always be at least a few years ahead.
