Since we have jacks of all trades in here, I figure there might be a person(s) with small engine experience. Here is my issue...
I have a Weed Eater One riding mower. It has a Briggs and Stratton 12S907-2411-B1 engine on it. 875 Series. I had a break cable break on it the last time I used it, and I replaced it today, then was all set to mow. So when I went to start it, it cranked quite a few time. It has done this in the past after a big rain, and moisture was in it. Well, today when it finally kicked over, it blew out a huge cloud of white smoke that smelled like pure gas, then died. I noticed that there was gas on the tire, and on the grass. So thinking it may have been something to do with the gas being bad, I replaced that, cleaned the bowl and nut out, and even changed the spark plug to a new one.
Still no dice. When I do get it to start, the same thing happens. I cranked it so much that I have killed the battery on it. So I am manually (Pull start) it. Once again, once the gas has evaporated, it will start till it floods out again. There is even gas in the bottom of the air breather (Puddle).
Now I looked it up on the net, and there is a slue of different solutions. One said to do what I already have done with the bowl, and also to see if the float is sticking. Another said to go to the local auto shop, and get some solution to soak it in for 24 hours, and that should resolve the issue. Another says to rebuild it (The carb).
If I do need to rebuild it, does anyone know a site(s) that I can get the kit from? I have looked all over, but can't find one that claims it is for that model. Just Briggs and Stratton carb kits. Or is there an easy solution that may fix the issue. I found one site that had the carb, for 80 bucks, but then another where I can get the whole engine for 129.99.
Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance....
