St Louis has a shot at breaking the January record for highest Barometric Pressure this week with a strong arctic high. The models have been trending somewhat weaker, but still very high.

No. But it does look close. NAM12 and NAM4 look to be 1050'ish right now while GFS and ECMWF are about 1048. Betting against records is always prudent though.

I'm betting on 1046-1048mb. With the GFS forecasting slightly lower pressures I think the models forecasting 1050mb+ are a bit too high...GFS typically overestimates surface pressures under arctic ridges.
1045mb+ is still higher than I can ever remember, the highest pressure I've recorded is 1044mb IIRC.
