Im actually supprised I am at 25.8 right now, we might get to 30 to 32, but befor the thick cloud I could see us falling to 18 to 24 before we warm to 27 by sunrise. Good questions snowman.
My lazer thermometer on the blacktop is 22, the concrete is 19.
I could see it getting to 30 and 26 Respectfully by 3 p.m. but would think the frozen ground would fall off steadily after sunset until rain starts.
Than I always Wonder how quick does it take for the warm drops to actually get the surface above freezing.
This is more of a question for the pros
Also I would think extreme wet bulbing is a major factor as well because our dewpoint is still 6 to 9.

Yes if only we could take the intense 15 days we get every winter and make it a month or 2 of temps in 30s.and 20s without the damaging cold, and get snow that would be wonderful.
Also I am not happy at all about the NBM

St.Peters just plowed our street.

We did plow some lots on the st.charles side of the river.
It is hard to measure but many areas not a blade of grass showing. I will be interested to see the totals across the area. It is impossible to measure. But definately 1 to 2

Sorry COZ, not much sleep this week with ice treatments everynight.
Advantages is great income for the company, but not much downtime.
But these salting events make more money than plowing events because much less labor so better return.

Ok, yall but it hit 43 yesterday with temps at 10 in the morning. Today we have lots of sun, 39 at 11, I have a feeling we are going to be pushing 50. But thats just because of what happened yesterday.

I could see us bumping 50 in the metro today, its already 39. Usually the warm up ahead of clippers is intense

Whats crazy is in terms of snowfall most of the metro has seen 5 to 8 inches of snow this season so far the last 3 weeks.
I know some doesnt stick around, but just based on face value numbers this is a much better winter already in terms of snowfall compared to last year.
Its these sneaky storms like last night that really add up. Basically if there is snow forecasted a week out forget it, but if it is 12 to 18 hours out it seems to be a lock.

Im going to estimate an even 2 inches before compaction intesting lambert recieved 1.2 inches just before midnight with only .04 inches of liquid. Either I am doing the math wrong but is that a 30 to 1 snow ratio at the airport, and if that is that is the highest I have ever witnessed in my life in this part of the country.

This has got to be close to 30 to 1 snow. Still snowing lightly 1.2 measured on the driveway before I blew it off. If you stomp on the ground the snow blows 6 to 8 inches away from your shoe.

Unfortunately the big fluffy flakes only last 20 to 30 min

|
Post by ajd446 on Jan 15, 2024 18:24:13 GMT -6
Looks like the band is moving quicker so 1 inch will likely be the top end with most a half inch.
Flake size is now like dust here, and lots of them but the fluff went away suddenly and I am inder the heavy band
