It's not looking good for New Orleans. They already had a flash flood emergency this morning and PTC #2 is still looming. I can't comment on the accuracy of this, but the NWS page shows the Mississippi River forecasted to crest at levels not seen in 90+ years. I wonder if the Army Corp of Engineers will take proactive measures to mitigate the potential of catastrophic flooding? There's probably not a whole lot they can do with the pre-existing flooding occurring...NOLA needs this storm to continue to track Westward through the N Gulf into TX or they are in serious trouble. I believe they can open morganza.

BRTN, We've never taken our birds in there, but all our deer go there, they do a phenomenal job, closest you'll find to an Old Fashioned Butcher also. If you've never had duck or goose salami you're missing out! Who wants to try my duck sausage?

Random question...I've noticed some snow still falling in the Rockies...isn't this a little late for that or normal? Depends on elevation. I got caught in a snowstorm at 11k feet in the backcountry years ago.

A or lots? Yes it makes a difference Definitely not lots. lol. But I wanted to. Im still upset about the metro fiasco. And the fact that so many inconsiderate people put up tents... and left them up so nobody behind them could see. The tents were ridiculous. We didn't have any metro issues. We used 5th and mo at 9am and 8th and pine immediately after the parade

Is this the right setup for those cold core funnels (not sure if that's the correct term)? I seem to recall similar weather in May about 10 years ago that produced them. My brother is in Millstadt and swears a funnel briefly hit the ground. I did see a speck of weak rotation show up on the radar. Hecker called me. Said same thing

Saw a sign on 255 before RT 3 Columbia exit that the bridge at Chester is closed but I haven’t been able to find verification online. News hasn’t mentioned it. Edit: it closed yesterday morning, I just missed that news. Chester bridge is closed.

Saw a video where a Dayton met told people to stop complaining about cutting into The Bachelor.
Sad commentary on people's view of severe weather

Just saw Chris' video from Carl Junction on The Weather Channel. That's great footage. Was that on the air or done on your own "free" time? Wow. Didn't know Chris was successful. Congrats on a job well done

For any of you who saw it... how did radar scope look on the air? Your radar looks A LOT better on TV than the station's. You should push to switch. Much easier to see storm features.

HRRR continues to look wicked in the high risk area with an outbreak of tornadic supercells this afternoon. I hope chasers out there stay safe. Very dangerous setup to chase Swift storm motions and crowded storms is going to make it hazardous to say the least...along with explosive buoyancy leading to rapid genesis and growth. I know i wouldn't be down there. I'll bet some chaser gets hurt. Probably a big chaser convergence problem today

Anyone else notice the last 2 hours or so are radar over St Clair County you could see high clouds streaking from Southwest to Northeast. in real life from Swansea Illinois looking towards St Louis you could see these very high clouds they were dark moisture-laden clouds. They basically stat stationary right along the east side of the river from Monroe County up through St Clair County. Then all the sudden this thunderstorm complex reaches that area and blows up. I don't know what's going on but you're not going to convince me that those two things are not completely linked On radar it looked like an outflow oriented in a sw to ne line slowly drifting nw. Once the storms hit that line they intensified and the warning was issued

Glad I could stimulate a little discussion about NE and how it will affect downstream. My friend's farm isn't flooded. They're in Columbus NE but they can't go anywhere. I haven't seen anything good come out of Nebraska today. Ranchers dealing with massive loss in the West, major flood in the east. Very sad.

NWS Omaha/Valley has no power, so no weather radio alerts. I almost drove home to IL last night, might have made it before they shut down I29 from Omaha to the Missouri border. Luckily my mom's health isn't as bad as we thought. Had coworkers say we are an island right now. We chased up there 7 years ago and it was a real pain getting across the Missouri due to flooding up there

I didn't realize until last night that next Sunday we spring forward and go into DST. It's been the second Sunday in March in recent years. But it just seems early to me. Kinda' snuck up on me. That's really going to have a negative effect on our snow chances going forward.

The spc issued storm level meso an hour before the lee county tornado. The local office also performed well. We have reached a point where warnings are a sociological problem.
Mesoscale Discussion 0145 NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0100 PM CST Sun Mar 03 2019
Areas affected...east-central AL
Concerning...Tornado Watch 7...
Valid 031900Z - 031930Z
The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 7 continues.
SUMMARY...Strong tornado potential appears to be maximizing over east-central AL through 3pm CST.
DISCUSSION...A mature supercell located near Montgomery is favorably located within a region of maximized surface pressure falls (3-4mb per 2 hours) immediately east/southeast of the surface low. KMXX VAD shows 500 m2/s2 0-1km SRH when accounting for the observed Montgomery County supercell's storm motion. Given the ample buoyancy and intense shear profile in place, it appears tornadogenesis will likely occur within the next 30-60 minutes with the possibility of a strong tornado occurring.
