And they are about to get dumped on even more. Probably 2-3” more coming. I’ve had 2 rounds of heavy rain downtown. Crazy lightning this 2nd round.

Was just about ready to give up & go to bed but took one last 👀 &, lo & behold, it was snowing! I hurried up & went down to street level to take it all in. Definitely very slushy. Traffic seems to be ok on it. I felt like a kid!

Sitting here looking down on 55/70 & a row of electric trucks passed heading south. From the sound of reports from south of here, they made be needed.

I’m praying this does, in fact, give the metro area a decent amount of snow. I rented my apartment mainly because of the amazing view. Other than one tornado 🌪️ warning & that dusting we had not long ago it’s not gone my way. Also glad I still remember my password. That’s a rarity nowadays.

Not to nitpick the LSX office, but their official forecast has 1-2" downtown, yet they are saying it's likely downtown receives more than 2"? I sure hope so. Before I moved downtown most weather events happened say 44 & north. Now that I’m downtown it has been to the south. I want some decent winter before I move back down south.

I was pregnant & taking summer classes at MAC (Mineral Area College). The walk to the car after classes was brutal. The asphalt was nearly melting I swear. I know one day the high was 108!

For the life of me I cannot make a photo appear here. So I made it my profile pic. Since I’ve moved to downtown StL I’ve been anticipating approaching weather. So I present to you this amazing spectacle sight today. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

I’ve moved recently to an apartment on the 27th floor. What sort of damage could a tornado do? I figure windows for sure. I’m looking forward to watching storms roll through town with such a view.

Just turned over to all sleet here in Terre Du Lac (5 miles west of Bonne Terre). Daughter’s job (@ 70 & 270 ) sent all the employees home early.

Only minimally weather related. Just in time for the beginning of severe weather I’m moving to downtown St. Louis. My apartment is nearly on the top floor & I can go to the rooftop to see approaching weather. Woohoo!!

While it was nice out today, I drove down to Fredericktown, down 67, got off at 72 & took the bypass over to OO & headed back north. Then took Busiek road east to Worley Rd to F highway to AA north to the little church. On AA is where the house that the news kept showing. First could see evidence just north of the St. Francis River. Saw a big tree down & shortly after could see the major stuff. Man, so hard to process it all. Mr. Gonz’ home is being rebuilt. They’ve just gotten the framework up. Crazy to be in flip flops & capris in December.

Chris, that aerial view you cut to of house & barn belongs to John Gonz. He is my niece’s father-in-law. He was trapped for while. Luckily, he sustained only minor injuries. I had posted about him that night. He had been at my niece’s house for dinner but left early because of the storm.

Fojginmo, hope that he’s ok.and just a power outage thing. Just heard from niece. Family got to his house. He lives in a home that is partially below ground. They described it, saying it looks like a bull dozer plowed into it, pushing it from front to back. He was trapped in the debris & is being taken now to Mercy hospital. Don’t know the extent of injuries. I feel like we dodged a bullet here. My son& wife have a business on Columbia St. In Farmington & thankfully that place has a huge basement. He assured me they were all fine.

My niece’s father in law, his home is gone & they cannot reach him. He lives near F & A east/SE of Fgtn. He had been with them for dinner & my niece says they tried to talk him into staying till storm had passed but he insisted on going home. He’s elderly & bought a burial plot in last 2-3 days. Socials are ablaze with damage reports.
The back end is just passing imby, can feel the temperature change.
