Its a good thing we dont want it too cold for a good snow. Just cold enough around 31 is ideal Depends on what kind of snow storm you like..... I personally would rather it be around 15-20 degrees and get the powder snows that you can use a broom to sweep away ..... 31 degree storms are usually sloppy and wet and when you shovel it’s like concrete ......but any snow is better than no snow

18z gfs with the ol’ 10 day tease again lol. Man, we desperately need a good storm to track. It’s pretty amazing at how different each run is on the GFS..... tonight the tease storm will be gone lol

I remember a clipper hitting down this way on Christmas Eve in the early 2000-2004 time frame .... dropped a good 3-4 inches

I have yet to see measurable snow this year so far, and I see no chance of anything measurable in the next 30 days. I am going for a new record this year of least snowy winter. I am holding to it. If this prediction works out like your record warm December you better get your snow shovel ready lol

It does seem that the radar returns are a little north of what the models have shown...... now if it’s making it to the ground that’s another story

The radar in SW Mo looks amazing..... and knowing we get nothing out of that is a punch to the gut.... being a snow lover in SW Illinois is not much fun anymore......I sure wish we could get some snow luck

Just got a flash back on the wife’s face book that 7 years ago today is when we had a surprise 8-9 inches of snow ...... I think we were forecasted to get 1-3 and even that wasn’t forecasted until the day if the event..... great storm

We have not heard from Friv yet this winter.... I hope all is ok Thanks for the thoughts and well wishes. I have been reading the board I think I feel spoiled from the last few November's where we've gotten snow so early. The pattern really sucks most of the deep cold is displaced in eastern Asia. and it gets dumped into the Pacific ocean relentlessly. Leaving the upper Arctic basin to continually create more cold in such a way that it cannot build an established a deep deep cold air mass that we need to park over North America. The little cut off system that basically disintegrates right on top of us does have the potential to whiten the ground especially over the southwestern half of the viewing area. I think folks along and Sound of 44/64 have a solid shot at a period or two of snow on the front end. And who knows on the back end. After that things suck hard for a while. Glad to see you on here Friv .... always enjoy your input
