Still sleet and rain in Pacific. Sidewalk was slightly “crunchy.”

You’d think Lucy would’ve tore her rotator cuff pulling the football away this many times!

Since the forecasts have been calling for snow and we just get rain, I’m calling it now. We’re forecast for rain but will get a surprise amount of snow by Thursday morning.

We've either got a few lazy flakes literally drifting down in Marissa or the house is on fire and it's ashes. I'll keep you posted. I also can confirm this report ...... unless it’s the same house spewing ashes 😂 Knowing it’s Marissa, someone should call the fire department.

Light rain and sleet mixed in WashMO. 33 degrees on my car thermometer. All the schools out this way are off.

Nice burst of moderate snow here with near quarters falling. Probably about an inch here. Somehow I knew we’d post about the same thing at about the same time. 😂😂😂

Been steady snow all morning in WashMO. Probably close to 1” on my deck. So relaxing watching it come down.

Snow day! About 1/2 inch on my deck. Must be slick. 🤷♂️ Roads are in pretty good shape in this area We have a lot of kids who live south of the river in Pacific. I have a feeling that had more to do with it.

This week is Catholic Schools Week. For the longest time when I was a principal, it was almost a tradition that we’d have a snow day during that week (remember Sleetmageddon?). Would be cool to relive that tradition.

Was shocked to see a dusting of snow on the grass, roofs, and north facing surfaces. Steady drizzle and 30 degrees between Washington and Pacific. You never know when Mother Nature is going to throw you a curve, even a small one.

Close to an inch in WashMO. Roads are slushy. Highway 100 was covered in places. This is before the bigger “push” that everyone was alluding to, isn’t it? Will this add to totals?
What are models showing?

My son is a sophomore at St. Francis Borgia Regional High School and they utilize what they call e-learning days in lieu of snow days. Teachers are required to put an assignment online by a certain time in the morning. They are then required to be available for student questions via email for a couple hours after, and the assignments are to be submitted by a certain time that night (or it might be the next day since they’re on a block schedule). As a parent and an educator, I feel it’s been pretty successful. Don't know of many public schools in Missouri though that utilize this. Probably because the NEA hasn't weighed in on it, or it goes against teacher contracts. It’s the benefit of not having the government having people with NO education background make decisions about education. Kinda like the whole “2 weeks before Labor Day” law that passed. Are we really going to base the start of school on “tourism.” Sorry for the rant.

A few years ago, Gibault and a couple other area schools were experimenting with “virtual” school days. Each student was required to log-in and they had classes on snow days. Students were required to complete assignments just like any other day. Does anyone know if this is still being done? The high school I graduated from in 1976 has gone to this. Seems to work fairly well. Not sure what it does as far as state funds and days of school completed. Late start for our school today. Probably a good choice. We may end up doing it all again tomorrow. Meramec Valley is utilizing a late start today as well. First time I remember seeing them do that. Hopefully it’s successful and they can utilize it more in the future...like tomorrow.

My north facing driveway is slick with ice. Not sure if it’s the result of freezing temps, frozen ground, or a combination of.

I’m surprised how bad the radar looks, I have not had time to look does the HRRR/Rap/NAM have things filling in and becoming more steady later this evening? I would have thought there would be a steadier slug of moisture moving up I44 Looks like it’s filling in over Oklahoma.

Sprinkles.....temp holding at 33° for an hour or so now. Gravel driveway isn’t slick at all which I am really surprised with it being so cold lately. Could change after sunset I’d think.
