There’s been a heavy sleet mix here in Ironton. Parking lots are getting covered and side streets are definitely covered/slushy. Just got home from town and slid twice. It’s pretty slick right now.

Does anyone know why there was such an awful smell in the air today in Ironton, Farmington, and Fredericktown? I saw lots of people talking about it on social media, but nobody seems to know what it is from. So weird!!!!

Well I haven’t had hardly enough rain to wet my driveway! We’ve had showers all around us the past couple of days but at my house we haven’t even had a tenth of an inch! Ugh! Can anyone tell me if this pattern is gonna break?!

Looks like it might be a 'here we go again' tonight especially for the southern third of the viewing area. Models are creeping the QPF field closer to St. Louis each run however, so worth keeping an eye on. Might be a more significant event as well especially for the southern most counties. Is it looking like a mix of freezing rain, snow, sleet still tonight? What time are we thinking it starts? Maybe 5pm? (Iron County)

Pretty classic freezing drizzle sounding off the NAM for Sunday night Is this for the whole area or just part of it? I’m curious about south of STL…. I’m not seeing much forecasted for Sunday night but I know how that freezing drizzle can be super dangerous!

I know it’s supposed to be windy tonight but will the winds die down tomorrow? Morning? Afternoon?

I'm not saying I disagree with us southerners only getting a trace to maybe an inch, but I'm just wondering why NOAA has me in 2-4 on their graphics.

Woke up to Iron County being added to the winter weather advisory but I can’t see where my forecast changed..

Soooo.... I thought that models still showed lots of ice for us here in the southern counties.? They do, meaningful ice pretty much up to the 70 corridor, but more ice the further south you go. You’ll still get some snow from the last wave though, potentially several inches. Okay, thanks for the info. That's what I thought but wasn't sure if anything changed over-night. I'll be keeping an eye on this because the ice amounts down here could cause some major issues.

I fell asleep during the winter weather forecast last night before they got to the actual months and if we can expect snow. Anyone want to sum it up for me? Thanks. December - cold with little snow January - cold early in the month, then warming - little snow February - cold for the month with fair amount of snow

I love fall! This time of year always gets me excited to think about the upcoming winter and hope for some good storms to track! Love having a place to visit and read/talk about weather. It's almost time to break out the sweaters, hoodies, soups, chili, etc. I've read most of the winter weather predictions and I'm really hoping for a cold and snowy winter.

Looks like the light mist/rain we’ve had this evening has really put a dent in the snow. However, there’s puddles and liquid running on roads. Any chance it will ice over by morning?

Snowing in Ironton. Flakes are pretty tiny, but it’s still a pretty little snow shower.

Getting heavy sleet in Ironton right now. There’s been a light freezing drizzle all morning. Roads, driveways, parking lots-all an icy mess!

So someone update me on tomorrow.... I know it’s not much but if I’m looking at some ice then it won’t take much. Timing??? Something frozen will fall from the sky. Either really slick sleet or really slick super dry snow. Sometime between 2-8pm. Maybe half an inch, maybe an inch+. Nothing that’ll get a car stuck, but definitely something for cars to slide on. Thank you

I know that the models have been back and forth a ton, but I don’t think it’s looking very good for us southern counties. Is there any chance we might get in on this snow, too?
