I just don't know what has happened to Carpenter. He was killing pitchers by raking that first pitch fastball all over the park. Now he takes it and swings at everything else.

The thing that gets me about all this stuff is some folks are so convinced of the argument for AGW. What they never fully explain is why has climate varied over the last god knows how long if the Sun has really has no effect because it varies so slightly. There is one fact in this whole argument. We still do not fully understand what drives climate and we aren't even close to recognizing what part the Sun plays in it.
Of course the apologists are always running around looking for volcanic events and god knows what else to keep explaining the great variability in our climate.
Let's face it folks, we really don't know as much as we think we do. Climate is a relatively new science

I have commented on this before. I think Cardinal fans get a pass on just about everything. They got another one today. I listened to the interview with Jason Heyward on the way home from the game and was not surprised at all by one thing. They never asked him about the great welcome he got from the Cardinal fans. You know why? There wasn't a very good welcome. I was there and I have never been more disappointed by the home crowd. I have been to 15 of the last 16 home openers and saw many new faces welcomed. Without exception if they were in the starting lineup they got a full house standing O when they had their first Cardinal AB. Today was flat out pathetic. So much for the best fans in baseball.
They used to be better, but something has gone bad at Busch. Are they spoiled? Complacent? Who knows.

My job does the same. getting up at 5, going to work at 6, and then loading a fricking truck in an unheated warehouse just isn't much fun. Especially when i must take my gloves off to do the paperwork. last year several times my hands would ache for a good 15 minutes as they thawed out in the morning.
Last year several times it was so cold the adhesive on labels we use would not adhere. That's cold

How do you stop it??? There was a plan already in place. Most was for peaceful. Side protesters wanted to cause more problems, doing it. I am wondering where is the national guard. Same as everyone is. I understand. But to blame the the president and such is wrong... I feel for ya, I really do. I knew this crap was going to happen over 100 days ago. But don't put blame on those who sent help there. Blame those who were in charge of placing those to prevent the issue. Meaning those who are below the President and even lower then that.. I blame the president and the governor as well......this should've never been allowed to escalate back in August the way it did. These two single handedly made this the volatile situation it has become by making this a "race" issue. Now with that said I don't have a problem with peaceful protesting.....but if these peaceful protesters wanted "peace" then they would get out of the streets and protest properly on the sidewalks without hindering citizens to do their business uninterrupted. As well as this if they wanted "peace" in this situation they would've left the area when the "thugs" came in to do this kind of crap and allow the police to do their job. So in the end I blame Obama, Nixon, and all protestors. my my blame everyone but the rioters. I guess they were helpless because of the President and the governor and the protesters. I would probably burn something up too if I was inspired by that group

of course we must live in a perfect world so it is always the fault of the people that govern us. I blame the weather on the king of the earth, whoever that is. I suggest we impeach him now.
just got word from the policy guy for the king of the earth. He said we screwed up the weather so he won't take the blame for it. typical politician. Sigh

We went down into southern Illinois again and were not disappointed.. we know this Little Rock Road through the Shawnee and we take that it's absolutely beautiful. The drive down the road route 3 on the way there is really nice. After going through the Shawnee we stopped at Bald Knob cross. Looking out across the wide spaces that was kind of hazy yesterday. We then went to the giant City Lodge for dinner. I think we got a few more days would be really good colors down here.

Ok, folks hold onto your seats.
I am going down to Big Cedar. If you know me you know I am not a rich man. Well, thanks to the miracle of timeshare ownership my wife and I am partnered with one of the top resorts in the Midwest. We am going down there to stay in a beautiful 2BR Cabin for 5 nights.......for a heck of a lot less than you think, then we'll be moving to a 2BR concierge presidential unit for the weekend. Once again for waaaaay less than you think. The presidential comes through the miracle of what we call bonus time. That's all real nice. Here is the kicker. We have this thing called family and friends bonus time. I have another presidential reserved for Monday to Friday. It sleeps 6 and and has these features.
Villa Size: 2 BD Concierge Villa Villa Description: Square ft. - 1337; Sleeps 6; Kitchen - 1 Full gourmet kitchen; Bedding includes 1 King bed, 1 Queen bed, 1 Sofa bed most comfortable for 2 children; Bath(s) - 2 Full; Laundry is In Unit; Additional info - LCD TV, Blu-Ray player, BOSE surround sound, balcony Max. Occupancy: 6
If anyone out there can get away next week you will stay in a place that you will not believe. If anyone is interested PM me.
Thanks Phil

I contacted the local NWS about local wind. There is data and winds have steadily been dropping since the 1920s in St Louis. So I guess this last 6 months or so are only a blip.
Thank you Mr. Truett, for responding and thank you Mr. Miller, for digging up the data.
Here is the list...year given is the last year of the 10 year period...
1930 - 11.5 1940 - 11.5 1950 - 11.0 1960 - 9.5 1970 - 9.5 1980 - 9.7 1990 - 9.6 2000 - 9.6 2010 - 9.1
Maybe in 2020 we will find we are on an upswing. Who knows?

I cannot watch any more of this Cardinal game. Waino just turns into a different pitcher against this team. Grooving two strike pitches. Especially watching the other guy throw absolutely perfect curveballs over the outside corner with two strikes. I am afraid someone is going to break a leg between 2nd and 3rd base. Thank God I only had a toothpick in my hand when Peralta fell and then got forced off of third by Holliday.
Sigh, this team could not be any different than last year. The miracle is they don't have a record like the Cubs.......yet.

Sure some scientists still hold out against evolution. They are scattered throughout the sciences and all have religion as the reason behind their protests. None have been able to puch a credible hole in the theory. Climate change has many detractors. In fact is, it only enjoys it "overwhelming" support in the climate field. Most of the people working in this field have only been there since the theory was presented. Here are the smoking gun some pull out to "prove" this is a done deal. Accepted as scientific fact by climatologists: 1) The earth is warming 2) Humans significantly contribute Read more: morethanweatherstl.proboards.com/thread/37/cosmos?page=2#ixzz2wj8XAcZvThe second question here is the biggie. I watched a special on the Weather channel a couple of years ago. Believe me, they were not looker for doubters here. At the end of the show they asked all the featured scientists about the future. This was pretty much where everyone split. The big splitter was the models. Those who had something to do with making these models had little or no doubt about their accuracy. They predicted continued rapid warming. Those who did not make the models would not come out and endorse these outrageous numbers. They also would not put any specific percentage on what we have caused thus far. As true scientists they held back on these two questions (How much have we caused? How much hotter will it got?), and each one said the same thing. We simply do not know enough at this time to know the answers. The detractors to the climate change thinge are spread throuhgout the science field. No, they do not all work for Exxon. Anyhow, evolution is a theory that is akin to fact. We have seen proof of it. No use comparing the two in any way.

I guess you missed the stuff about mutation and birth of a species. Two things that would meld well with the creation aspect. I wonder what blocked you ears from that? It was most likely the 5th or 6th beer. Not to mention I was on E-Bay searching for a DMX controller for my Par 4 lights. LOL

I watched the latest episode last night, before i went to bed. And I would say, that the term "Evolution" was kinda loosely used. When I heard it was used in it, I was all alert to see what the explanation was going to be. After watching it, I realized it was more "Adaptation". How nature will slowly change the structure of the DNA to fit the surroundings. Our bodies do this everyday. I know when I started my job, I could not walk into the dairy cooler W/O a heavy coat on. Now, I walk in there with a T-Shirt on and can be in there for a few hours (Now the ice cream freezer is another thing). I really didn't see anything so offensive on the show. Most they talked about was natural selection. And once again, that happens everyday. I guess you missed the stuff about mutation and birth of a species. Two things that would meld well with the creation aspect. I wonder what blocked you ears from that?

Manny is probably the big unknown cause most of them don't bother talking about it no more. It doesn't really help in the waste your breath on that subject. I know the IPCC and other climate groups will kick out scientist who do not toe the line, they are not interested in dissenting opinions. In fact the defense is so strong it drives a lot of people out of the field, including me. I studied it but if you're not interested in doing studies to prove this silly notion then they don't want to have anything to do with you. I don't need to run off to do studies to know that it's warmer, it's a fact. What caused it? who the hell knows? Probably a whole bunch of things but the recipe is more complex than they put forward. The arrogance of climate scientists astounds me. It is such a young science but they act like they have it all figured out. What an amazing bunch of geniuses. By the way, I own no oil stock, I am a Democrat most of the time, and I could give a rats ! BACKSIDE ! about an oil company.
