I'm not going to think anything about a snowstorm until the low appears on the WPC

It would appear that St. Clair County in IL will get spared any severe.

Temp has dropped more than 20 degrees here in about an hour. Just a guess but I think the front is through and so is our threat for severe weather

It would appear that St. Clair County in IL will get spared any severe. We dodged the bullet for sure. Just some brief heavy rain and a couple split pea sized hail stones barely noticeable but they were there for a few seconds then just windy. Now comes the cold.

Looks like the worst is missing Todd just to the south with potential hail core.

So I go back and read the part of the thread that I missed and ... snow? wth? Yeah, okay. Hard to believe that we'd get more than flurries in April so i'll believe it when it falls on my head. Three years of bad winter will do that to you, let alone the history of STL and the models. That being said, temp is down to 50.

Based on the 12 gfs, i wouldnt be surprised to see some intense shortlived snow fri night and again sunday. This time of year always a mixed bag. Common sense says a slightly north jog from where this past weekend happened but something in the back of my head says this is not common sense storm. Going with my gut and thinking through the metro with the highest potential for accumulating snow. Qpf looks impressive but lower lsr shld bear out although temps will be cold.

Remind me again-where can I see these models? I want to see if us southerners get in on the action this time. We didn’t see any flakes with this past system.

Looks like the worst is missing Todd just to the south with potential hail core. Thankfully. Had some decent hail reports 1/2 mile or less south of town, it was a close one. Haven't heard anything from that hail core than passed throught Reynolds/Iron county, but can't imagine they didnt take a fairly hard hit.

18z gfs looks solid Friday, especially just south of St. Louis.
Ratios could seriously be 12-1 or 15-1 (at the very end) for some of the metro in April lol.
Then it shows snow most of Sunday with cold 850 temps and surface temps around freezing. Of course if it snows a decent amount Friday night, Sunday would have no trouble accumulating even during the day with 32 degree temps.
This is truly an amazing thing to see modeled in April and within the 3-5 day range.

Wow at the gfs lol. Lets hope the euro comes a bit north tonight and the gfs says about status quo. Not tour ordinary April snow for sure. Could be the biggest most widespread snow of the season for the area. Strange times.
