Given that we will likely have area wide rainfall by week's end in addition to the rain in the Plains I think Dust Bowl 2.0 will be on hold for the time being...

I dont see any dust bowl conditions making a return anytime in the near future around here. The GFS is rather wet around here over the next 10 days

GFS is very wet the next week...this is a good trend. Strange time of year to see a cutoff low moving through the middle of the country but it will provide some great relief this week. Could be another one late weekend into early next week keeping our temps down and our rain chances quite high.

I was thinking we were going more into “the Mesozoic” era. Heard a T-Rex was spotted in Ballwin recently

Heard a T-Rex was spotted in Ballwin recently That would explain why some of the mosquitoes ive seen recently are the size of small birds Sure they aren't Crane Flies, they are large and look like Mosquitoes however are completely harmless and don't feed on blood or anything else really for that matter. They live to breed and then die soon after.
Speaking of insects, Cicada Killer Wasps are already emerging. Seems a bit early as I haven't seen or heard any Cicadas yet. Also soon the Hummingbirds will be taking their young to those feeders... Had to say it as Dave always says it for July in the Summer Forecast specials.
Cicada Killer Wasps look like this for anyone who hasn't seen one or has but didn't know what it was.

I looked at the CFS this morning and what it shows looks eerily similar to the Early Archaic period in North America...
Soon we will be crafting tools that resemble the one in my avatar and wondering what the hell happened to all the mammoths and giant ground sloths.

I've seen this song and dance before, but the GFS is showing supercell composite parameter up in the 4-7 range next weekend suggesting an environment supportive of organized severe storms (not necessarily supercells though mind you). It's a long way off and could amount to jack squat like pretty much every other threat this year.

They are plenty scary but pretty harmless...unless you run over the nest with the lawnmower. Then they don't much like you.

So are we looking at any organized rains/storms this go around? Or is it pretty much what we've had last week? Just ur day to day pop storm.

Not sure about organized clusters of storms but it should be much more substantial than the pop up variety.

Looks like Friday could be one of those days where we don't get out of the 70's and have showers around. Relief is on the way from the oppressive heat after today.

Whoo hoo! Tornado watch for half of Colorado. Awesome, as long as it hits after I get home and into a garage. The auto body, auto glass, and construction places are already booked up after the baseball-sized hail storm we had last week, don't need to be a part of that mess.

Looks like big hail and very strong rotation on some of those cells.

I wonder of those storms are gonna make it here... Been trying to figure that out, too. So far they are just skimming by to the north. I'm hearing some thunder, but that's it. But it looks like there's some developing in the Wentzville area which looks promising for me.

Good sized cell got within five miles just the west, moving this way. And now it's collapsing before it gets here.
I got a rock. :-(
