I am good friends with Perryville and texted him and warned him it was heading his way when I took this picture from DQ. Can't seem to upload it and need some help.

Craziest story I heard was a guy watched his Jon boat get sucked straight up and slammed into the lake. That makes me think it was a small tornado. Thoughts?

Heard of someone's pontoon being thrown out of the lake. I'm convinced tornado.
Looks like another round of storms forming just behind the cold sector of the current line.

Photo courtesy if Ste. Gen. Thanks Perryville! That was a zoomed in shot from my picture at 3:28. This was when I called Perryville and I was trying to identify what I believed was a funnel cloud looking south down interstate 55 from DQ parking lot. I have a shot at 3:28 that is from a wider viewpoint and shows more of the storm structure. He might upload it later. Do we know if NWS has sent a team to confirm that it was in fact what we all believe?

So yes, good chance that was a tornado in Perryville. Here is the radar scan at 3:49pm. There was an elongated zone of rotation/convergence, but just west of the 55/51 intersection there was a 120mph outbound velocity bin at ~6400ft on KPAH radar with an impressive rotational velocity as well. No obvious debris signature at any time, but that's not a necessary condition.

That is a pretty classic QLCS tornado visual presentation right there. Did you take the pic and if so... can I share?

Chris, unfortunately I did not take the picture and am not 100 percent sure who did. I'm working on the source. You may find the source if you ask for pictures from down here on your Facebook page.

Funny you say that because there's a short video right after this and it had become rain wrapped. My wife was scared as hell in the basement and said she never heard the wind roar like that. Barn about 200 yards from the house had a wall or two ripped off. Coulda been worse that's for sure. Brings back memories of last February's EF-4.

Are the storms out west going to remain south of 1-70? Or are they suppose to move into the metro after midnight?

Would have to think it will be south.
NAMs have extreme CAPE tomorrow afternoon and and well into tomorrow night- wouldn’t discount some big storms.

If the NAM is correct overnight Wednesday and we get this low level convergence with MLCAPEs ~4000... it would be interesting.

~4000J of MLCAPE at 2am is pretty ridiculous

Nice little bonus storm around 4AM this morning, woke me up with a close lightening strike. Looks this this week's heatwave is 'almost' a bust and not much more then 'typical' summer heat but it looks like Independence Day into mid month will be the benchmark of the Summer with 600DM 500MB ridge poking into our area, but it will all depend on temps aloft. The trend is been for farther east with the mega ridge with it over the Rockies yesterday, now shown to be over the plains today, will it make it to the Mississippi river valley? It's got a solid chance. July is looking intense with that heat, but then that's not unusual for July which is the hottest month of the year typically.

Heat waves are fine in July and August since it’s supposed to be that way but summer began early this year! Two days of heat is long enough right now! Glad we got rain!

Lots of water is going to come out of the ground over the next few days with the sun and heat. Its gonna be a bit steamy, but thankful for the rain.
