Hour ago they were washing out. Now it looks like they have a pretty good chance of making it to the Mississippi River. And they are looking pretty nasty.

Storms are intensifying again out in central MO, with a warning for jeff city. Line making steady progress toward the area. I'm sure this will screw things up for us severe wise later. Yea this is kinda what happened Thursday in the southern part of the area. Though these actually look more intense and cover a larger area. These will probably be the storms of the day, can't see another recharge seeing how intense they are becoming.

Line of storms becoming outflow dominant N of the MO river now...storms are going to struggle to hold together with the outflow surging well ahead of the line. Further SW it looks like they may hold together for a bit longer but the intensity seems to be waning a bit. Convective debris/overturning should limit the severe threat for later today for all but the far S and E counties.

Looks like that cluster is maintaining strength, if not strengthening, especially south of 70. Could go severe here soon
edit: actually I have no idea. Will probably fizzle our once it gets to the metro like usual

If this cluster would have held off a few hours later it could have gotten nasty...lots of moisture pooling along and S of the warm front across the area...dewpoints are in the mid-70s here. RAP analyzed 2000j/kg+ MUCAPE across S IL. I do think there could be some severe storms that develop later today down there.
It's amazing how consistent these MCSs are with blowing up across the central/northern plains, crossing MO overnight and weakening as they approach the river during the morning hours...often to re-intensify and organize again further E. The evolution of the nocturnal LLJ plays a large role in this I would say.

Probably had a 40mph gust here. Now the rain has begun. Some lightning and thunder. Yippity. More nothingness. Lol

I'm gonna get dumped on here in about 5 mins. I'm watching a fast moving wall cloud moving in on us with the rain right behind it.

What I see on the radar return vs what is actually falling here is completely different. Shows heavier rain, actuality is barely rain. More like sprinkle.

Getting some gusty winds; probably approaching 30 mph. But not really what I would call “stormy.“ Getting some light rain and an occasional low rumble of thunder.

I am glad the split formed and saved the First Annual De Soto Train Days. We have some very light rain right now and had some lightning and thunder. Completely split and diskappeared. I see some radar returns popping just south of 70. Seems the models didn't quite capture the MCS very well.

Looks like we're about to get hit with a fast moving thin line of showers here in Branson. Will be interesting to see what it does. I'm assuming it's the cold front coming in?

Well... the line pushed through here. If you ran fast, you wouldn't have gotten wet! Thinking about running back to Springfield to catch the game tonight. Yadi is scheduled to catch tonight and tomorrow. Martinez pitched Thursdays game.

That's a day I'll never forget...easily the most prolific outbreak of supercells and tornadoes I've seen across the Bi-State region.
