Severe t-storm near Effingham and lots of scattered stuff from SW Missouri to the west of the metro into west central IL. Hopefully it will move some to the southeast before we lose the daytime heating. The grass is really going brown in a hurry.

Getting bigger, too.
Lots of storms moving NW of metro and lots of storms moving SE of the metro. Meanwhile the metro sits in a dry area in between.

Anybody else notice this little short-lived supercell in northern Macoupin county? It had some fairly strong mid-level rotation, but if you blinked you missed it.  |

There are reports of a large tree that snapped at the base and street lights blown down in St. Louis City.
There are several outflow boundary collisions getting ready to occur so watch for new initiation in the area. It looks like two of them will collide in St. Charles County.

Nice shower over Lebanon IL at the moment. Some lightning and thunder. Cooled off from 99 to 90. Will make this March a little more bearable.

There are a lot of outflow boundaries... looks like contrails on radar.

Appears the outflows maybe choking all the storms in st-charles County and Ofallon St Peters area May remain dry. We need rain desperately. Any chance we'll get any overnight.

that was quite the lightning and thunder show for about 15 minutes just now. Very intense downpour, too, but only for about 5 minutes or so.
