12z nam goes nuts...
Interesting with the usual caveat that the nam does this occasionally.

I think the northern half of the viewing area will see a light coating when they wake up Friday morning. I'm likely singing in the rain down here but may squeeze out a couple flakes at the end.

I understand Todd's concerns on the link he posted, but I really believe it should be allowed (Chris and the mods decision, of course). It is a great explanation of the new probability of snow product. Fish does an outstanding job breaking it down, it's a great tool and many on this blog would be very interested in the information provided.

Chris has given me permission to post, my concern was not about content or source, simply if the product was ready for public consumption. This is the NWS Probability of Snowfall Experiment 2018-2019, composed by Jim Sieveking, as you would expect, a great view and great content. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hk0V7rRJr9M&feature=youtu.be

This group is safe I think the forecast remains largely on track... cold rain transitions to snow for a few hours....from west to east..some light slushy build up on grass and elevated surfaces is possible...mainly northwest of I-44 and north of I-70. Mostly a mood snow...with limited...if any impacts.

Hope to see some good things from the gfs at 12z for early next week. With the trend and Euro support, I am intrigued.

As for Monday night and Tuesday... I sort of ignored that system yesterday and just bought into the cold and didn't talk much about the precip potential as it was very questionable. This morning... I felt the need to add at least some mention about it...and a token "winter mix" for Monday night and Tuesday. In reality... it could still very well be nothing...or it could slide forward or backward by as much as 24 hours (or more)...but I felt it was wise to mention something...but not dwell on it.

We gotta get the flow to slow down a bit and get it to amplify early so the east coast weenies don't steal it from us. Some good battles early on here in the season between the models.

The EURO is definitely a beautiful setup for early next week. Haven’t even seen a storm like that show up on models for this period in November in years. If only we could just get half of that pretty picture....

Yeah we need the trof to take on a neutral or negative tilt or the storm will get suppressed well to the south. 00z EURO is pretty much a pipe dream, haha. But there's potential for a good storm somewhere if there is favorable phasing.

Super GFS has some snow Sunday. So between the old GFS, euro, and super GFS, we have three different solutions. One of them is probably right lol
