Chris, tried to send this privately but wasn’t the unknown soldiers identity discovered recently and that he was from Missouri? Wasn’t he re-buried in MO? And if that’s so, who is in the tomb that the soldiers guard now? He was identified around 99. Micheal blassey. There are unknowns from each conflict buried there.

Grass is starting to show bits of white, now. Snow intensity and flake size has increased in the last 10 minutes

Dry air fighting hard across IL...still pockets that haven't filled in on radar within the shield. The winners are definitely going to be SW of the metro.

Snow storm 920 what is it showing amount wise Its alittle further south this run. It has a very sharp gradient cutting the viewing area in half SW to NE. The NW counties would get flurries, the metro getting anywhere between 3" and 12" and the southern counties getting anywhere between 8-14". Sorry if that's vague, its hard to describe without posting a map

Rolla to Waterloo would be closing in on a foot snow depth from Thursday. Even if you say that's overcooked and cut it by half it would still be a warning level event. Odds of a solid 3 to 5" with locally heavier amounts wouldn't be too unreasonable to imagine. Definitely time to mention a little more about this thing and mention of a wet snow with some moderate accumulations possible to avoid any model flip flopping later.

I thought it was about to wind down here but pretty good redevelopment around Joplin. decent bubble of f'genic forcing in the low to mid levels swinging through eastern KS/West MO -- seems to be what's keeping much of that final band together.

Step away from the window for an hour. I come back and the grass is mostly covered. Visibility down to 1/2 mile.
Streets still just wet.

Moderate snow in Alton...starting to accumulate slightly on elevated surfaces but the borderline temps and insolation is making it tough. Still liking D-1" for most of the metro.
