I'm already up to 0.10" of precipitation...all rain. It does look like it is starting to changeover in fits and starts though.

Finally! All snow in western St. Charles County....Beautiful moderate flakes making for an ugly view with all the brown sloppy grass! Cover that crap up, quickly!

Lots of big sloppy wet flakes. Ground is still just wet even though it's been snowing pretty good for a 1/2 hour.

The 12z fv3-gfs looks great for next week. Come on 12z euro! There’s certainly a strong signal for a rapidly deepening cyclone around here next week. Could be fun if we get it to deepen at the right time

Respecting that this is a STL metro blog I try to reference storms with potential for that region and only call out Chicago if it overlaps or something crazy like a blizzard is happening. This would be for late next week. Models have a rapidly deepening low tracking somewhere between KC and just west of the Appalachian spine (Gfs west and euro east). This would put Kansas on east in the potential line of fire. No reason to get more detailed than that a week out.
