I believe my elevation is nearly 600ft. I wonder if that is helping because I'm all snow and it's coming down moderately

Beautiful “snow globe” type snow, but it’s not sticking to anything other than, the remnants of our last snow, that hasn’t melted off my deck.
It’s the kind of snow that I remember, as a child, staring out the classroom window, hoping it would stick and we would go home.....only to be heartbroken and stuck in school all day! I’m sure my children are staring out the window, in class, wishing!!!

Heat island and low elevation is real... looney? Why? What heck are ya'll talking about??? Oh -- meaning that fact that it's snowing all around the area in which you directly are where it's either raining or not doing anything. I always end up in the place where nothing good is happening.

It's barely snowing like barely literally light rain with some very wet flakes that's all we've had here I'm about to hop on the bus and head to the train station and go back to Illinois and I'm off work hopefully I'll get to see some snow as I get on the train

Drove home through pretty heavy snowfall, I would guess 1/4 mile visibility. Temp down to 29. Measured a strong inch on the deck and on my piece of plywood out in the yard. Like someone else said, sticking to everything!

Very strong signal for a system around here late next week into the weekend on the GFS and EURO ensembles. The trough placement on the ensembles would favor a deepening low tracking south of here very near our wheelhouse

Very strong signal for a system around here late next week into the weekend on the GFS and EURO ensembles. The trough placement on the ensembles would favor a deepening low tracking south of here very near our wheelhouse Because I'm a glutton for punishment I am interested. All models show a very dynamic situation with the northern and southern streams phasing with intensity. There will be enough cold air nearby to dump some snow somewhere. Who knows where the needle will be threaded but ingredients are there for sure.

Definitely an under performance today. If it weren't for the very warm surface temps, 1-3" would have been easily obtainable.

Usually the strong phases systems the models show early...end up happening. Just a matter of where. Maybe in 5 or 6 days we'll know.
