We are in for one helluva night by the looks of it! How close are we, given the latest models, predictions and the overall eye test thus far, could we potentially be looking at putting 1982 to rest? No Not even close

Dry air/weaker lift has cut into totals on the IL side thus far...looks like about 3" here in Brighton. Will measure in a bit. Roads are completely snow covered though and that little bit of sleet and melting snow at the onset froze into glaze under the snow making it treacherous.

I'm going to get sleeted and or dry slotted. But this is a fascinating storm. I'm praying that cold nose verifies tomorrow morning for some very heavy snow. Probably sleet though. It's all good. It won't be sleet. It will be either snow or rain Rain would be a real pisser.

Could there be signs this storm slows to a crawl and just destroys us?

Could there be signs this storm slows to a crawl and just destroys us? It's already at a crawl. SLP is creeping along. 850 has almost stopped completely.

How is I44 west from 270 out to six flags? As of this moment both directions look to be closed at the antire hill. Below are the cameras in the area. The first one is hard to tell in a screenshot, but it appears all of the vehicles in that picture in either direction are emergency vehicles/plows. The 2nd one shows the WB backup between 141 and Antire. WB Backup is at least to Bowles and all cameras look like they are at a stand still. THANK YOU!!! We decided to stay in a hotel is probably safest given the incoming wave of heavy snow and that traffic is at a standstill. Why I love this place!

Under some of the heaviest returns right now, it's snowing hamsters, however intensity is not heavy enough to drop out visibilities

GFS hangs to mostly snow the longest into Saturday for the metro and drops an additional 8-10".

I know one storm at a time, but Glenn just said the storm next weekend is looking exactly like this one. Now that would be historic!

I was expecting more robust snow with this band moving through. It's like the snowflakes are water laden. Falling really fast but not huge flakes, just a lot of mass to them I guess and that is why I have yellow returns above me. Temp 30*.

lol..Glen is afraid to share what the final amounts can be but the possibility is crazy high.... After that he did point to whichever model that was showing 12"+ for the northern metro (Lincoln-Calhoun-Jersey counties) of additional snow. To be safe I would assume it was it initialized at 0z and thus additional from ~6pm although it may have been a short range model that initialized later than 0z.

Are kidding me? 40 Eastbound closed at Clayton not because of an accident but because the overpass is too dangerous...I can't remember a time where it has been this serious on so many highways other than 82....

I'm eyeballing it but looks like 2-3 with light snow here in northern Bollinger Co. Beautiful to watch. Hoping I can get back home tomorrow. Surely by Sunday 72 to Fredericktown & 67 N will be ok.
