Driving back from cape, heavy snow at the transition point on Highway 55 at about the Ste Gen/Perry county lines. Shortly thereafter and most of the trip on 55 and across 32, mix of rain/sleet and snow. Back home about 3mi east KFAM, all snow, moderate. Good info here, thanks! I think someone down near Cape or south towards Sikes get jackpotted, unless it slows down a hair.

We have puddles on the roads (flash freeze?), Sleet/snowmoving in And 99% of the public has no idea. Could be a nightmare scenario for driving this afternoon. Good day to finish off Narcos on Netflix and stay off the roads.

Farmington update for people who actually live south of the border on this forum:
Sleet switched to moderate to heavy snow about 30-45 minutes ago. Roads in town are really getting slushy and slick. Grass is getting covered quickly as well. Turned over faster than I thought. I would say switch to moderate to heavy snow occurred around 10:30-10:45am.

It’s a slsnizzard at my house in Mascoutah...lol Not really but sounded good, just some sleet and snow buzzing by at around 40kts lol Weax, since your deep into bowling, you should look into purchasing our local bowling alley in town that’s for sale. And they also make the best pizza. Poker machine income is also included. It is a flizzard at my house in Mascoutah.

It has blown here all morning. It is starting to get windy here as well. I guess there will be no forty mile shift this time.

Sleet/rain mix 7 miles west of Perryville. 75% sleet I would guess. Elevated surfaces starting to ice over.

It has blown here all morning. It is starting to get windy here as well. I guess there will be no forty mile shift this time. Sure doesn’t look like it..... sucks to always be so close and yet it finds a way to miss us..... even our snow last weekend was pretty much ruined by an inch of rain

Moderate snow in Fredericktown with a dusting already. Heading to Farmington for work now. Let's hope people stay home and be healthy today and let us stay off the roads!

All i want to know is why. I do think it's closely related to the transfer of energy in the mid-levels. Also, the 500mb track is a shade too far S for the Metro...but not by much.

Not sure I would say that... the whole system is just further south now than modeled. The interaction with the northern stream really made this difficult to forecast.

Per SPC there is a closed 700mb low between farmington and Centerville, right where the radar returns are bestest. Those dark green and yellows sure are sitting awhile NW of Centerville.

Enjoy Southerns...you deserve it! Thanks BRTN and Coz! Patience is a virtue. This time last week, I was watching most of the board pile up snow totals as it poured rain at 34 degrees and melted my 4” away

Looks like the new 850 low is just to the NW of Memphis?
That would explain the southern shift
