Yeah... undoubtadly it was the northern wave that supressed the normal paramters further south. Plus... it had to deal with the always challenging process of energy transfer as the northern low faded...and southern low took over down south.

Not sure I would say that... the whole system is just further south now than modeled. The interaction with the northern stream really made this difficult to forecast. At 15z the SLP was congealing over MEM and the snow is barely getting to 44. Not exactly textbook...

Waiting until it gets to the river makes it tough to pull together fsdt enough for us this far north.

Starting to see the mesoscale band showing it's hand from about FAM to SLO...wouldn't be surprised to see some 6" totals down there.

Yes this definitely ranks in the top five storm fails since of been following the weather. All I keep hearing from people is how terrible the weathermen did, unfortunately they do not know how terrible the models were .

Someone mentioned earlier the ICON was the first to pick up on the shift of precipitation and no def zone in the metro. It actually did the best and it was the first model to predict the last weekends storm.

We have the salt shaker snow now covering roofs and starting to accumulate in some spots on ground. I think my friend Perryville is sitting in good shape to be in the maxima. Someone may have mentioned that already but the NWS office seems to reflect that too with most recent map. Enjoy it STG outdoors and Perryville! I know you guys didn't have much last weekend, maybe this makes up for it a bit.

Some of the models showed this for quite a few runs...
Friv asked what factors could be forcing the strange placement of the QPF.
Well, the northern stream influence, energy transfer, and timing.
There you go, they were onto something.
The euro threw things off by blowing up a big run or two, but the other globals seemed fairly consistent once we got within 72 hours.

We thought about it, because it’s a great little place with a lot of potential, but our manufacturing/B2B Fullfilment business is more than enough to keep us busy. And if that wasn’t enough for us, I Crew Chief/Team Manager for a young brother sister race team, that includes a lot of traveling. We would have to have someone run the day to day part of the business. Oh, and push snow this time of year......sometimes...lol It’s a slsnizzard at my house in Mascoutah. Weax, since your deep into bowling, you should look into purchasing our local bowling alley in town that’s for sale. And they also make the best pizza. Poker machine income is also included. I'm terrible financially so I would not make a good owner of a business.

On the mPING mobile app there is not a legend for the icons. What do the blue “play” arrow and the number 1 in a box mean?

The owner of Crown Candy is urging people on Twitter that since the storm is a bust for the metro area to get out and support local businesses today since they’ve had a rough week.

Moderate snow in Fredericktown with a dusting already. Heading to Farmington for work now. Let's hope people stay home and be healthy today and let us stay off the roads! Yeah, with some of the local crazies out there and using their phones and driving and being a Saturday. I'm sure you'll be busy today. You be careful! It's nice to actually have a decent afternoon moderate snow coming down for a change.

Ill have to start paying more attention to it

Starting to see better snowflake growth I'd imagine as we have gone from the salt shaker stuff to some quarter sized flakes mixing in. Moderate snow currently falling.
