I want to say THANK YOU to the members on this board and Mr. Higgins. My wife would’ve been trying to make the trip home from her parents around 3 but after reading The Corner, I told her to be home by noon. It started sleeting as she was less than 5 miles from home and turned nasty quick. So again, thank you to all that contribute to this place!!

Is it spring yet? I'm ready to tap maples again this year. I need the temps to drop below freezing at night and about 40-45 during the day. Also need it to dry out a bit so I can get back into the woods to bring it out. I boiled down 300 gallons of sap last year (made 7 gallons of syrup), and my goal is 600 gallons this year. The way this winter has not wanted to lock in and stay awhile, I'm about to say I'm done and ready to move on to spring! Supposed to be about 50 again Tuesday.

I shared your post with someone from up this way headed to Cape/Jackson for a wedding. Fortunately, they're already getting off at the Jackson exit. She confirmed multiple accidents along the way.

We've had more snow this year officially than the last 2 years combined plus near a foot of snow a week ago. And people complain.. However Love the snow untill I have to deal with it, I'm ready for warmer temps and longer daylight hours.

Radar sorta has the look of some slantwise convection with the multiple bands lined up parallel to the 850-300mb thickness.

Yea, I just measured between 4 and 5 but it's a struggle to measure. It's phenomenal. I would like to request that STGOutdoors be muted until the event is over........He threw the "drying cloth" in days ago and said "Hope you northerners enjoy your snow . I'll need a miracle for much down here." Enjoy your snow!

I just measured 2.25 inches of snow where I'm at in northern St. Francois County. I was working outside, doing some sawmill work with a portable bandsaw mill under a shed. The shed is partially enclosed and served as an excellent wind block. I could see the snow but didn't really pay attention. When I broke for lunch shortly after noon and stepped out of the shed, the wind and snow was crazy! It snowed varying intensities all afternoon.
This brings my season snow total to 11.25 inches on the year. Respectable thru this point and more snow than the last 3 winters season totals.

Reminds me of the Jan 14 storm right there. I remember some parts of my yard being almost bare and others having 3-4 foot drifts

Here's when it was just absolutely ripping around 3pm. We easily had two inch per hour rates for a bit. My best guess at a measurement is just north of 5".

This is only reports through 4pm Alot of warnings north of the metro seem to have busted. Quincy and Springfield only getting that much snow is surprising. This system was a headache for sure

Glad we've all at least gotten something so far this winter. A couple more systems that work out for us and I'd call it a massively successful season.

I took a drive earlier. At Gravois and 270,the ground was coated. Three miles north at the Manchester exit, nothing.
