We've been getting lucky that southerly flow out the Gulf hasn't been able to establish itself long enough prior to these frequent and/or strong waves moving across the country. Otherwise we'd be talking about some major severe weather outbreaks in the middle of the country.

So red flag conditions, possible dry frontal passage and temps dropping into the 30s...sounds about right.
I'm really starting to develop a deep seated hatred for the weather around here. I guess 99's outlook finally rubbed off on me, lol.

I don't know if it's just me, maybe it is, but it just seems like the weather the last several years in our immediate area has been rather boring. Yeah I know there's been some significant, even historic (i.e. flooding) events in recent years, but particularly severe and winter weather have seemed fairly limited for a while now. It's probably always been this mundane but I'm only now realizing it because I understand and pay attention more. Ok, well...winter really HAS been boring until recently...

Spoke with the Chief met at Fox 21 in Colorado Springs this afternoon about an opening for weekend mornings and a reporting spot during the week. He said I should know if I'll get an interview by next week. Wish me luck!

I was just speaking with a viewer about this on Facebook. Remembering back to last year I think I covered maybe one or two severe thunderstorm warnings on air-- I can't speak for the year prior when I was in Golden, though.

My friend in Gillette WY took this video of the blizzard today with this Mariner waterproof drone. Crazy how well it is accumulating for April 10th. We have trouble getting snow to accumulate on the roads in mid January!

I guess 99's outlook finally rubbed off on me, lol. Gosh theres nothing more exciting than watching a 2 foot blizzard roar through the upper midwest and the great plains so we can watch with anticipation the rising rivers down here in what seems to be the deep south. Im giddy with excitement...and sarcasm.
