Could be a wild one at the ballgame today depending on which way the wind is blowing. I hope we make it back to the car afterwards before getting hit with the rain. I'll probably leave the umbrella in the car. Umbrella with 40mph wind gusts = futility.

My goodness...E/central SD is going to get buried today! Easily the strongest TROWAL I've ever seen...would not be surprised to see 24"+ amounts and 3"/hr rates.

Thought about posting some screen shots from South Dakota DOT webcams but it would be pretty much a waste of time. The visibility is so bad it's essentially just white out conditions. Can't really make out any detail. www.safetravelusa.com/sd/

I was just speaking with a viewer about this on Facebook. Remembering back to last year I think I covered maybe one or two severe thunderstorm warnings on air-- I can't speak for the year prior when I was in Golden, though. Uncle sam do you have a "corner" in Columbia or a blog? Negative. I try to stay pretty active on Facebook though. I don't know if I have the type of following to start something like that...

Not sure I have ever seen this before… but there is a severe thunderstorm warning in Western Minnesota for large hail in an area were they are also currently under a blizzard warning... And where the nearest observation is reporting snow

Wow that is really impressive! LOTS of lightning up there too. The past 6 months have certainly made up for our lack of cyclones in the few years leading up to it.

Euro is pretty wet through area over the next 7-8 days. It sure is...the active pattern shows no sign of slowing down. Active as in alot of rain or severe storms here??

Given how warm it's been, 44* on Sunday is going to feel down right COLD!

My aunt in Northern WI is forecasted to get 6-8. Cousin who lives an hour north of Milwaukee, 2-3. Everyone is very unhappy about this turn of events.

I’ve been careful looking at its ptype charts knowing that I don’t know, but the euro has the snow band too, so I’m confident there will be one. Euro is just a touch stronger and further northwest with the fun.

Euro goes bonkers next week too...
We were about 3 weeks off from having a historic season.
These would be 6-12 inchers back to back easy

Where the euro has the snow falling..in IA has already had a historic season. It's not going to snow here. No history. Sad.

I’ve been careful looking at its ptype charts knowing that Yeah I think I heard they were making progress on that, but it was unclear to me if the fixes have been rolled in yet. Seem like I've still been seeing some significant cold issues with it still though...

Have to see what this midweek storm next week does in terms of track and warm sector but there's a chance, even if small, that we may get a CAPE/shear/lift combo enough to support some sort of categorical severe risk eventually.

I could be wrong, but it sure seems like the EURO has been suffering a cold bias in the medium range as well...but not nearly as bad as the FV3.

There are a few good downpours here and there. But I've not had anything more than a light shower since it started at 530 or so. Though I did just hear a very distant rumble of thunder.

This morning Chris did say the rain would intensify as it moved east through Illinois. And that does seem to be happening. The line of rain along the front has filled in in the last hour off so.

Hope it doesn’t verify... I’ve said for awhile that Meramec could go crazy this year... it’s already been high and out of banks in Arnold and at 141/21 from Mississippi back up... do they have a forecast at that location? It appears to be going down now. With the all the snow north again, that has to come down too so we will have to watch Missouri and Mississippi again now in time. Crazy active times. Euro has 3-6 inches of rain in the Bourbeuse and Meramec river basins along 44 corridor area the next 10 days. Yay.
