The northern Bahamas are going to get the beating of their lives the next 2 days. Likely those islands will be unrecognizable after Dorian. Just heard the Bahamas have ~never~ experienced a Cat 5 hurricane. So you're not exaggerating.

This is an awesome visualization, Chris. I may have to borrow the idea for our evening show tonight. I'll give credit if you don't mind. What an incredible storm.

The last observation I’ve seen from Marsh Harbour in the Bahamas is a sustained wind of 128 mph. The core of the eyewall is about to come ashore there. You guys are right, they will be pretty much obliterated. Surely EVERYONE left, right?

The last update from the RMS HWind twitter page had Dorian at 25 TJ of kinetic energy. That was at 18Z yesterday though. Hopefully we'll get an update from them later today.

I don’t know this guy’s story. If he’s a hurricane chaser, why does he have kids with him?

My God why would anyone stay there. Hell of a way to make a social media following... that would be my guess to a handful of other reasons they may come up with.

I don’t know this guy’s story. If he’s a hurricane chaser, why does he have kids with him? Josh is a hurricane chaser. The kids are people that stayed there. He's in an all concrete designated storm shelter. He has been in some of the strongest storms in recent years. He usually tries to help people out too if needed.

12z HWRF still brings Dorian on shore in FL. Gfs inched a hair closer. Serious case of the tight cheeks right now down there I’m sure.
That thing is so symmetrical it almost looks fake. Just an unbelievable storm.

It crosses over Cape Canaveral...and then slides it across the coast south of Jacksonville.
