Oddly enough, it will be hotter in Southern California than it will be here when I arrive. I thought I was going into nice weather...

Time for one of those styrofoam belly boards. Watch for jellyfish, and make certain, and I mean certain, you occasionally get all the sand out of your swimsuit. When body surfing on one of those you are on your stomach and other areas the whole time....nuff said

If the 12 z models are right so far, you might even get a 50 mph gust

12z ukmet has landfall in North Carolina...
Might want to move up the coast if you want to see anything (obviously would be closer to CAT 2-3 by then)
12z HWRF makes landfall in South Carolina.

Looking at GOES East Sector View from NHC site WV loop set for 96 hrs and set to fastest speed. Aside from the insanely minimal movement of Dorian, look on the east side of outflow between Dorian and next system. It looks like meteors in the clouds. Amazing. Clicky

If the 12 z models are right so far, you might even get a 50 mph gust It’s not gunna hit here too hard more than likely but I’ve got a case of Yuengling and a fifth of captain I’m rapidly tearing into so I best play it safe and just watch the storm surge because I do sill expect that ocean to come up quite a bit. Can’t be in the best position for them all. I’ve been here since Friday so I’m ready for the show to happen so I can find me a plane ticket back...somewhere.

amstilost That looks like it's an 8 hour loop, but there are 96 frames... still an impressive look as it's barely moved in that time.

this is incredible if real. Looks legit to me. Haven’t seen a lot come out of there yet but what I have seen has looked similar to this and worse. More should be revealed in the coming days.

I have full confidence that it is real. The individual who made the video has several other videos on Facebook throughout the day. It sounds like this is from the eastern edge of Freeport.

I don't know too much about this technology or how legit/accurate it is, but I think ICEYE is a satellite company that does synthetic aperture radar for tracking ice packs and other applications.

Dorian is Basically falling apart, and will stay off shore. Barely a cat 3, probably a 2. Eye is gone.

Dorian is Basically falling apart, and will stay off shore. Barely a cat 3, probably a 2. Eye is gone. I wondered if that might start happening. Every hurricane I remember that sat in place for more than 12 or 18 hours weakened itself because of up welling. I'm thinking the water around (and over the top of) Grand Bahama has probably cooled substantially by now.
