Was out on the Gasconade river down near Dixon yesterday morning when it blew through. Sky got very dark and the wind really picked up. We pulled in to the bank and tied up for a while. For about 30 minutes, there were actual whits caps on the river. Never thundered or rained, but it looked like it could. Radar showed it north of us the whole time we were there. Caught a few nice bass in the 2 to 4 pound range. All were 12 inches +, and all went back in unharmed.

My level of dislike for this weather is similar to a cold rain at 35 degrees - not quite as bad but close.

Hello from Omaha, Nebraska and Offutt AFB... my new Air Force home! Actually, it is a joint service job...my boss is Navy and I'm working in an incredible facility... that I can say virtually nothing about. This new position has taken as far out of my comfort zone as I have been since I deployed more than 10 years ago...maybe more so because with rank comes responsibility. I will be back on air next week.

I actually work for SAC now. I thought you guys PCS'd? We came here almost a year ago from Peterson. Hubs will most likely retire out here in a few years. You should've seen the base flooding that happened out here. The fuel tank that's on it's side is from that.

Medium to long-range guidance pointing to the flip of the switch towards the middle of the 3rd week of September... Until then, looks like a May-June set up around these parts.

BRTN may be right from his statement the other day about tropical moisture next week. GFS continues to develop a system in the Gulf and pretty much move it overhead. It would likely just be a weak tropical storm but we've seen over the years what kind of rain they can produce. More importantly, it would keep us from having another really hot week before the hopeful fall cool front in the day 9-10 range.

Geeze This summer part 345432 can end any time now. Looks like only slightly above average temps at the end of the 10 day. If you put a gun to my head and made me choose between 90s in september or low 80s at the start of november, Id take the former.
