And down our way not a drop..... That's insane, we've had 4.25" here and before it's all done I think maybe another .25" could fall. Some wicked lightning with this last batch too. In a span of 50 miles it goes from nothing to several inches.

The line forming through Saint Clair County might give us some rain down this way… We really could use some… We have missed some of the rains lately

A good North Breeze from the gust front just came through DeSoto. My neighbor has a tree pile burning and just got a whiff of some of the Cedars he's cleared. The brush pile is due north of me.i have no optimism I will get any rain out of this.

The humidity is about as bad as it gets though. More I think about it even of we get to 89 or 90. The dp might get 80 to 85 which is about the worst it can be hear in my opinion

And down our way not a drop..... Correction--we had a hundred or so drops last night sometime between 8:45-9:30. They were on the car when I got out of the gym. I have a witness.

I'm ok with not much rain. My sump pump could use a couple month break, and I'd like to stop mowing.

Tough call for storm chances this evening...HRRR keeps the storms across central IL into S IN but the RAP and 3k WRF give a nod to convection developing further SW along the front as well as the EC. Based on 12z soundings, model forecasts seem a little warm with 700mb temps so I'm thinking the HRRR is underdone across the area. Shear values of 30kts should support a severe wind threat if storms do develop, although the boundary layer may stabilize a bit by then...thinking around 10pm give or take.

Will the tornado watch just issued migrate southward?

Don’t see many tornado watches of that size in August. Wasn’t expecting that. Also wondering if the storms will build south. Radar is lighting up pretty good already.
