Models missed the effective boundary by a lot I was thinking that to this morning. The convection last night pushed it pretty far south

IR shows some streamers further south and west. I could see it build south into the metro

Well the way the radar looks this morning I may as well just stay in bed. Won’t be any mowing getting started at daybreak today.

The Davis on the roof in North St. Pete says .75 from last night/this morning. It seemed like there was a lot of lightning.

Just read that WIU is getting a dual-pol doppler radar...that will be a great asset for the region!

tell me if I'm wrong, but I think Lambert has 40.06" of precip this year. Normal for the whole year is 40.96? It's Aug 13. lol

It's the highest accumulation year-to-date for Aug. 13th on record.

Just read that WIU is getting a dual-pol doppler radar...that will be a great asset for the region! This is great news for the Tri-State area as that area is a big dead zone between STL, KC, Quad Cities, and Lincoln radars. Speaking of radars, I see the local radar site will be down next week for maintenance, although as far as I know the immediate metro will still have the terminal radar to use. Also, the NWS twitter account announced yesterday that a new NWS radar website is coming. The text from the tweet is below. Coming in 2020: A new NWS Radar website! Featuring: ✔️Mobile-friendly layout ✔️Dynamic zooming/scrolling ✔️Level 2 data ✔️GIS services ✔️Social-media friendly animations

I haven't been able to find any info on the specifics of the WIU radar. Is it just going to be another X-band radar like MZZU?

The storm that blew through Sunday night/Monday morning left quite the mess here in Terre Du Lac-Bonne Terre. Lots of trees down, large branches etc. The wind was terrible. My sister said it hailed here but I must have missed it. We were puzzled that there wasn't any warnings put out.

Friday night set up is looking interesting. I noticed the EURO was spinning up a pretty good MCV with the complex that develops north of KC and moves it across the region...could be another good wind setup.
