I’m watching some very old, large trees sway in these winds right now. Very large gusts that almost become sustained. I’m in Shrewsbury.

A few places in our DMA had winds up to 60-65 mph!
Had to do a live shot outside around 5am... very ominous to have it slow down and out of seemingly nowhere have the wind whip 50+ mph.

This could have been much worse if there were leaves on the trees still. Ya I have a few branches down but I’m actually surprised with how high the winds are we don’t have more damage.

I'm seeing modest tree, fence, powerline, etc damage in the St. Peters and Harvester area.

It is mounted 14 ft off the ground on the peak of my garage and i am the highest home on the street and live on the second highest street in the hickory ridge subdivision. With the win last night blowing from wide open areas with no tree onstructions.

Pretty boring start to December. Nothing to track the next week.
Might go buy a kite, not much else to do with this weather.

0Z NAM indicates a start of sleet or freezing rain with the precip on Thanksgiving with minor accumulations before temps warm up enough to switch over to a cold rain. Roads should be fine but elevated surfaces could get slick for a time.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here.... I hope everyone's own definition of Thanksgiving is fulfilled today. I know my own definition has 'evolved' the older I get. Be safe and let's see some of the indices for our snowy winter start to lock in. There certainly has been some powerful cyclones lately.
