Unfortunately the icy roads took the lives of 3 people in an accident in St Francois county last night. Perryville,MO That’s sad to hear Todd. Freezing rain/drizzle is by far the worst to drive in. No control of the vehicle and usually caught by surprise.

6z euro looks way worse than the other models.
Just a narrow band of a few inches south of STL, with minor accumulating snow in a wider band around it.
Interesting, considering every other model goes big.

What are we thinking with freezing rain levels down this way? Power outage and tree trouble? Paducah put a big red blob of >.25” over Perry County. Hoping for sleet but preparing for the worst. Thunder could throw a huge curve ball into that number.

Interesting, considering every other model goes big. It's the EURO verses the world. It'll either be dead wrong, or dead right. Hopefully it's wrong.

Wonder if Schnucks will close stores early like it did for Last January's storm cause I have to work another 7PM-12AM shift...? You wouldnt want them to close would you? If you get paid on the clock, and theres not much foot traffic, it is easier money, right? Unless you have trucks to unload. I know shelves are pretty bare.

Figured I’d check in before I get an hour or two nap. Been up since yesterday at 4am. Anyhow the way the radar trends are is this mainly a I-44 MO and I-70 IL and south of that line today? Meaning at least for the heaviest part.

Looking at water vapor, this system is starting to tap subtropical moisture...the high PWATs and potential for convective enhancement is going to support some impressive snowfall totals in spots and the banding should be less transient today.
