Radar looks gnarly. I'm not sure I've seen a radar with snow moving my way that looks that incredible.

Using a thin piece of cardboard I have a moderate rain/sleet mix, but mostly rain. Drops spead out to 1/4" dots on the cardboard. Just trying to give a better visual of the conditions 7 miles west of de soto. I hope it flips to snow quickly. Driveway is a sheet of ice. Temp 29*

Snow started with nickel flakes and now a lot of tiny ones. Eyeballing my street and it looks like carp. The models really blew this one, not a single carp warning was issued.

For those of us on mobile, I know it’s a pain, but please put location with every report post. Thanks!

Yeah that's what I assumed that it was melting flakes and sleet but the reports of lightning in SW Mo still had me excited.

As for my backyard I'm going with 9" give or take a half inch. Let's see how it goes. Today? All together with the inch, to inch and a half I have already from yesterday, so about 7 to 8" of new snow to get me to the 9" or within a half inch of.

That hrrrrrrrrrrr is exactly where im thinking the heaviest snow axis is..almost to the mo river. Btw we need an hsss model so we can refer to the his and her model and and the he said/she said disagreements between the model. I bet the hsss would be right more. 😂

I’ve got a dark colored varnished magazine cover I use to observe precipitation type. Some of this sleet is almost 1/8”, irregular shaped.

Looks like the big ol' balls of sleet are becoming more prevalent here in extreme northern STG county. Doubt I'll see snow but some of the transition reports are encouraging.
